Joshua Tree Structure Fire Claims One

an Bernardino County Fire recently responded to reports of a residential structure fire in the 60700 block of La Mirada Trail in the town of #JoshuaTree. While enroute units were advised that a victim was possibly trapped inside the home. Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of a single story, single family structure. Crews began a primary search for victims while engaging the fire in an offensive attack ultimately bringing the fire under control in approximately 18 minutes. During the secondary search, an adult female as well as two cats and a dog were located deceased. There were no other occupants on the property at the time of the incident. Three engine companies, a medic patrol, medic ambulance, chief officer and investigator totaling 15 personnel from County Fire were assigned to the incident. Damage estimates as well as the cause of the fire are still being determined. The primary search is an attempt to check all places where a victim would likely be. This differs from a secondary search which assesses all places a victim could possibly be. County Fire would like to remind the public that it is never safe to re-enter a building where there is a suspected fire. The safest practice to is to evacuate first then call 911 from an outside location.

Anaheim Mayor Tait shares kindness experience in India

Mayor Tom Tait has wrapped up a 10-day trip to India, sharing Anaheim’s experience building a stronger, more connected community through a commitment to kindness. Tait traveled to three cities in India to meet with local leaders and community members and share how kindness can combat issues facing them, including violent extremism, hate and intolerance.

Beaches West of Belmont Pier in Long Beach Closed Due to Sewage Spill Long Beach City Health Officer, Dr. Anissa Davis, is ordering all swimming areas west of the Belmont Pier to be closed to prevent water contact, due to a sewage spill. According to a report received from the Los Angeles County Health Department late this afternoon, 8,300 gallons of

sewage was discharged into the Los Angeles River from a sewage line controlled by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works. The spill occurred this morning at approximately 9:00 a.m. at the USC Medical Center, approximately 25 See Page 3

Officer Involved Shooting in Riverside

On Sunday, February 25, 2018, about 10:31 PM, officers from the Perris Police Department responded to the report of a man with a gun at a business near the intersection of Nuevo Road and Perris Boulevard within the city of Perris. The officers arrived at the location, and contacted the adult male suspect who was armed with a

handgun, and an officer involved shooting occurred. The suspect was injured during the incident. Officers summoned paramedics to the scene, and the suspect was transported to an area hospital where his condition is classified as critical.
