Located in the industrial park near the Gold Line Station at 162 Pomona Avenue, the most secretive thing about the place is its location. To find them head toward the Gold Line Station. It is in the industrial park on Pomona between Myrtle and Primrose Avenues on the south side on the street, but you cannot see it from the street. Turn in the driveway and head to the second row of buildings. It is in the

center of that second row. Parking is between the two buildings. Psst! Pass it on; it is no secret. Neither is the quality of the brews served. There are lagers, IPA’s and a very impressive stout (served both straight or on nitro). They don’t have cute names (at least not yet), but they do have good flavor. The brew master says he will make only lagers, IPA and other brews he likes. The patrons seem enjoy the beer. Two men who were in last Saturday said they were part of a group that sought out microbrews throughout the area. Refugio Gonzalez, a chiropractor who lives in Monrovia said they call themselves the “Brewcha-

chos” and have tasted beers and ales in many places. “This place is really good,” he said. Other customers seemed to agree. “This is amazing beer,” said a man, Mark, who said he works at PCC, but lives in Cypress. He takes the 605 Freeway to the Gold Line Station in Duarte, and then the light rail to work. “On the way home this is a good place to stop and relax for a bit.” Another man overhearing this agreed saying: “You cannot hide your mistakes in a pilsner or a lager, other brews are more forgiving.” The man who claimed his name was “John Smith” said, “His (pointing to the SEE SECRET PAGE 11

The date has been set for the re-dedication of the historic Santa Fe Depot next to the Monrovia Gold Line Metro Station. For more than a year the depot has been under restoration Daylight Limited,
