2018 is expected to be an interesting year for development in Arcadia. On Dec. 7, economic development analyst for the city of Arcadia, Tim Schwehr, held a meeting at the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce for a preview of the upcoming year’s expected additions and renovations. Bolwero, an alcoholserving bowling alley will be moving into the lot that formerly housed Sport Chalet in the Santa Anita Mall. Bowlero is expected to close down its previous location and move to the mall. The current Arcadia Self Storage facility located at 35 w. Huntington Dr. is proposed to become a modern foodvendor location, reminiscent of the Grand Central Market in Downtown LA, or the Anaheim Packing House Demolition of the Santa Anita Inn is well underway and clearing the path for the new Marriot next year- Photos by Terry Miller

who missed it, the pre-event action began Friday night with city staff and vendors setting up tents, equipment, furniture, tables, street barricades, power generators, holiday decorations, and more on four blocks of First Avenue between Huntington Drive & Diamond Street. By the time attendees began

On Friday, Dec. 8, H Mart, an Asian-inspired grocer that began in New York in 1982, held a Grand Opening at the former Ralphs location on Huntington Drive in Arcadia.
It seemed the entire community of Arcadia turned out to welcome the new business including the Mayor and city councilmember and representatives of local legislators. People have quipped that H Mart is a ‘cross between Whole Foods and your neighborhood
