First Night of Chanukah Celebrated in Arcadia Tuesday Chabad of Arcadia lit a 6-foot menorah erected at Arcadia Transit Plaza Tuesday evening around 6:15 pm. The community-wide celebration on the first night of Chanukah, which was Tuesday, Dec. 12. Included the menorah lighting ceremony, dancing, singing and traditional foods of the season for all to enjoy. The public menorah lighting was organized by Chabad Rabbi Sholom Stiefel of Chabad of Arcadia. “The Menorah serves as a symbol of Arcadia’s dedication to preserve and encourage the right and liberty of all its citizens to worship G-d freely, openly, and with pride.
