Man Sentenced to Prison for Assaulting Teen Playing Pokémon Go

57-year-old man was sentenced to seven years in state prison for striking a teen who was playing a location-based reality game, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. At his court appearance, Jayson Louis Lingen pleaded no contest to one count of assault with a deadly weapon in case NA104806. The defendant also admitted he was previously convicted of assault with a deadly weapon in 2013. Deputy District Attorney Thushari Wijesinghe, who prosecuted the case, said on the evening of Aug. 17, 2016, a 17-year-old boy was playing Pokémon Go, a location-based reality game, in Long Beach. A 57-year-old man was recently convicted of sexually abusing a young girl for over a year, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. The jury deliberated for less than a day before finding Fernando Rodriguez (dob 7/21/59) guilty of six counts in case KA110127: two counts of lewd act upon a child, two counts of oral copulation or sexual penetration with child 10 years old or younger and one count each of child molesting and distribute/exhibit harmful matter to minor. Trump Pulls Out from Paris Climate Agreement Causes Serious Congressional Concern On Thursday morning Donald Trump pulled out of the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Agreement. The Paris Agreement, adopted in December 2015 and signed by the U.S. in April 2016, is an historic agreement between 195 countries to keep climate change below 2 degrees Celsius.
