United Way of Greater Riverside to Celebrate Festival of Lights 25th Anniversary With Rose Parade Float Los Angeles Kicks Off Private donations will fund the $275,000 project that will be part of the parade on Jan. 1, 2018 Global Campaign United Way of Greater Los Angeles and Community Chest of Korea (CCK) partnered to kick off the first-ever global charitable giving opportunity in United Way’s history worldwide that allows donors to give to two countries at once. Los Angeles is home to the largest Korean population outside of Korea. With “One Heart, Two Loves,” United Way aims to raise at least $1 million to serve Korean Americans in Los Angeles and Korea by creating an opportunity for donors to make an impact
in two countries with one gift. Donations support the development of education, health, housing, employment services and financial services for vulnerable communities. Up to 50 percent of the donation can be designated to CCK with the remainder going to United Way. “United Way is committed to creating pathways out of poverty for all Angelenos – including the more than 300,000 Korean Americans living in this city.
