Gang Member Goes to Prison A 40-year-old man was sentenced to 147 years to life in state prison for shooting at several people outside a Pomona liquor store, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. On Jan. 24, a jury found Trevail Gray guilty of 10 felony counts in case KA106735: three counts of willful, deliberate and premeditated attempted murder, three counts of assault with a firearm, two counts of possession of firearm by a felon and one count each of illegal possession of ammunition and resisting an executive officer. Jurors also found true gun and gang allegations. Moreover, jurors found true a prior conviction allegation for assault with a deadly weapon in 2000. Deputy District Attorney David Barkhurst of the
Hardcore Gang Division, who prosecuted the case, said on the evening of Oct. 25, 2013, Gray and an unidentified male armed themselves with handguns and drove to a Pomona liquor store. Upon arrival, Gray and the second man exited their vehicle. The unidentified perpetrator immediately began shooting at three other men sitting in a truck next to the store, the prosecutor said. During the attack, the unidentified shooter fled the scene on foot while Gray pulled his own gun on the victims as they tried to run away, according to the prosecutor. Following the assault, Gray also fled the area and was on the run for two years, the prosecutor said. SEE PAGE 3
