Search Warrant Served at High Ranking Pasadena Police Officer’s Home in Sierra Madre BY TERRY MILLER
L
ast week, representatives of the federal Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) contacted Pasadena Police Chief Phillip Sanchez to inform him of an ongoing ATF investigation involving alleged actions of an officer with the Pasadena Police Department. The ATF told Chief Sanchez its investigation was unrelated to the officer’s duties with the department. Early Thursday morning ATF agents executed a search warrant at the officer’s home in Sierra Madre. The officer cooperated with ATF agents during their search of the home. Per Pasadena Police Department Police Dept. policy, Chief Sanchez placed the officer on paid administrative leave and initiated an Internal Affairs review. The officer’s status is paid administrative leave subject to the outcome and review of the Internal Affairs findings and the results of the ATF investigation. At this time, the officer has not been arrested, nor are there any charges that have been filed to initiate an arrest. The officer, like all people subject to an investigation, is presumed innocent until otherwise proven guilty. The ATF continues to investigate. The City, the Police Chief and SEE PAGE 6

Man Faces 35 Years for Shooting at Pasadena Police Officer
On Friday, April 8, 2016 at approximately 9:15 a.m., Pasadena Police Officers Elhosseiny and Sailor attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by three individuals. The driver initially failed to comply, then brought the car to
an abrupt stop in the area of Buckeye Street and Los Robles Avenue. The front passenger, later identified as Francisco Flores, quickly exited the vehicle and ran. Officer Elhosseiny exited the marked police vehicle and chased suspect Flores as he
