Like-minded animal news network and its non-profit support conscious campaign will be giving away free vegan food to race fans during Daytona Speedweeks World Animal News (WAN) (www.worldanimalnews.com) and non-profit organization, Peace 4 Animals (peace4animals.net), have, once again, put the pedal to the metal in promoting plant-based diets; this time coming on board as Gold sponsors of racecar driver Leilani Münter’s Vegan Powered Campaign for the upcoming Daytona Speedweeks. The highlyanticipated event starts on Saturday Feb. 18 and crosses the finish line on Sunday, Feb. 26, the day of the legendary Daytona 500. The VeganPowered.org sponsorship not only includes supporting the first ever-vegan themed race car
but also helps enable the campaign to get away free vegan food to thousands of race fans throughout Daytona Speedweeks; including the day of Daytona 500 when there will be more than 100,000 people in attendance at the race. “We are thrilled to team up with Leilani Münter on this history-making Vegan Powered Campaign and to help continue to spread the important message of veganism to a worldwide audience,” said animal welfare powerhouse Katie Cleary, founder and producer of WAN, hailed as the CNN for Animal Welfare, and its non-profit Peace 4 Animals (peace4animals.net). “This
is a fantastic opportunity to support a groundbreaking campaign that further reflects our fundamental beliefs in moving towards a plant-based future.” Münter’s #15 Vegan Powered racecar is part of the ARCA Racing Series that is fielded by Venturini Motorsports. “Veganism is going main stream in 2017 and we couldn’t be happier to bring it to race fans at the most historic racetrack in America,” said Münter who is also a prominent environmental activist that Discovery’s Planet Green named the #1 eco athlete in the world. “We are honored to have Katie Cleary, WAN and
Peace 4 Animals along for the ride.” In addition to WAN and Peace 4 Animals, Cleary, who first rose to fame on the hit TV show America’s Next Top Model, is an accomplished actress and the creator and producer of the award-winning documentary Give Me Shelter (www. g i v e - m e - s h e l t e r. c o m ) , which originally premiered on Netflix in 2015. Cleary is currently in pre-production on her next documentary, We Are One, which will continue to expose more questionable, once shadowed, industries in which innocent animals are severely neglected, trafficked, abused and killed.
Rapper ‘The Game’ Pleads to Assaulting Off-Duty Officer During Basketball Game Rapper “The Game” pleaded no contest today to assaulting an off-duty police officer during a basketball game at a high school in Hollywood, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. Jayceon Terrell Taylor, 37, entered a no contest plea to one misdemeanor count each of criminal threats and battery. Taylor also pleaded no contest to one felony count of grand theft. Deputy District Attorney Deann Rivard said the rapper was immediately sentenced to three years of formal probation, 120 hours of community service and 26 anger management counseling sessions. On March 29, 2015, Taylor and an off-duty Los Angeles police officer were on opposing teams in a basketball game when the defendant intentionally fouled, then sucker-punched the victim who had just stolen the ball from the defendant and scored a basket, the prosecutor said. Taylor threatened to kill the victim once the defendant was ejected as a result of the punch, the prosecutor added. Weeks later on April 11, 2015, Taylor grabbed and threatened a man filming him being served with legal papers outside of his house and kept the victim’s camera, the prosecutor said. Case BA436951 was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, Hollywood Division.
