Sky High Gas Prices Hit San Gabriel Valley, $5 Per Gallon Looming

By last Friday morning, prices at the pump were already on the rise at hundreds of service stations around Southern California. A decline of more than one million barrels in gasoline inventory on the West Coast was just one of the alleged reasons for the surge in prices, according to gasbuddy.com. Also, fuel imports into the region have dropped to zero for the first time since March, according to the website, which cited a report from the Energy Information Administration. The average price of a gallon on gas nationally however is still cheaper than it was at this time last year, according to AAA. Friday’s average gas

Phlunte’ Riddle Raises More Than $100,000 for State Senate Bid Since announcing her campaign 13 weeks ago, Phlunte’ Riddle has demonstrated strong support from community members by collecting more than $100,000 for her campaign to become the next State Senator for the 25th District. At the reporting June 30th deadline, Riddle had collected $93,385 and has now raised $101,550. “I am truly humbled by tremendous support I have received from members in the community who have contributed to my cam-

paign,” said Riddle. “We are continuing to gain momentum and raising what we need to mount a competitive campaign to stand up for middle-class families by creating better jobs, stronger schools, and safer communities.” Riddle resides in Pasadena with her husband of 36 years and is the mother of three adult sons.
