Unmaintained Swimming Pools Becoming Breeding Grounds for Mosquitos

Mike Ingram, Air Operations for Pasadena Police Department, arranged for Vector Control specialist 1, Leslie Conner to fly around the Valley in search of more pools that may be contributing to mosquito population and thus increasing the chance West Nile Virus. Pasadena Independent went along for the ride with pilot TJ Gonzales and Sean PorterTactical Flight Officer. Lt. Ingram pointed out that Vector Control San Gabriel Valley and Pasadena Police Air Operations also work in conjunction with FAST- Foothill Air Support Team and routinely service SEE PG. 10

Monrovia Council Questions Priorities for the Wilderness Preserve

Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing to assist Monrovia Police Department personnel with their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a missing woman. Their investigation began Monday, June 15, 2015, when they responded to the 800 block West Olive Avenue, Monrovia. The missing woman is identified as Lajoya McCoy, a 31-year-old female, resident SEE PG. 16
On Tuesday the Monrovia City Council met in a study session to discuss the Hillside Wilderness Preserve (HWP) and more specifically the implementation of Resource Management Plan (RMP) and the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for the area and their implementation.
