Drive-By Shooting Injures Two Monday Evening

Two Pasadena men were wounded in a drive-by shooting Monday night. Pasadena Police said the shooting appears to be gang-related. The incident started as 10:42 p.m. with a report of gunfire near Marengo Avenue and Parke Street. A gun was located. Officers found a

23-year-old man with gunshot wounds he was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition Monday night. About 40 minutes later a man whose hand was shot showed up at the same hospital. Police said they are looking for a dark colored sedan.

For 28 years ASC has relied on Federal monies. In 2012, the government’s

funding model changed, requiring ASC to provide medical care to its clients rather than through a third party. In an effort to make certain there was no interruption in care, ASC delegated its federally contracted programs to the Pasadena Public Health Department to de-

liver these medical services. The transition of medical care to an outside organization reduced ASC’s overhead yet also eliminated a primary source of funding. The organization has not been able to replace that funding despite the generous support of many indi-

viduals and companies in the local community. ASC’s cessation of operations also means that “Big Night Out,” the organization’s annual gala fundraiser normally scheduled for the beginning of May, will not be held but

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives responded to the 10400 block of Enloe Street, South El Monte, to investigate the circumstances surrounding a deputy-involved shooting that occurred on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at approximately 12:47 p.m. Detectives have learned that Temple Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a residence in the 10400 block of

Enloe Street, South El Monte, regarding an “assault with a deadly weapon - now” call for service. The call additionally stated that a stabbing was in progress. On Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 12:15 a.m., El Monte Police Officers received information that a local Martial Arts Instructor from the Elite Kung Fu Training Academy at 10423 Valley Blvd., El Monte had inappropriate physical contact with a juvenile. An investigation ensued which identified Elite Kung Fu Instructor Derick Lee (DOB 7/27/65) of Temple City as the suspect. Lee was located and

arrested by El Monte Police Detectives on April 30th at 4:50 p.m. at the martial arts studio. Lee was booked at the El Monte Police Department for the listed criminal charges. A follow-up investigation resulted in the identification of two additional victims. Currently, Lee is being housed at the Los Angeles County Twin Towers Jail Facility. All of the assaults

A hit-and-run charge has been filed against a 38-year-old woman accused of running over a family in a crosswalk in South Pasadena late last year, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced May 4. Tiffani Monique Lowden (DOB 5/23/76) of Whittier was charged with one felony count of hit-andrun driving resulting in injury to another person and one misdemeanor count of

driving when privilege is suspended or revoked. Case GA096159 includes an allegation of great bodily injury to a four-month-old girl and her mother. Arraignment for Lowden was scheduled in the afternoon in Department 5 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Alhambra Branch.
