Former Alhambra Assistant Superintendent gets 10 Year Prison Term A former school administrator in Alhambra who molested two Riverside County girls — one of whom confronted her in a recorded telephone call later posted online — was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison on Monday. City Manager Appoints New Health Officer for Pasadena City Manager Michael J. Beck Monday announced the appointment of Dr. Ying-Ying Goh as the City’s new Health Officer. Prior to her new role, Dr. Goh served as Pasadena’s Interim Health Officer from May 2014 to Jan. 2015. Since 2011, she has been the Pasadena Public Health Department’s Medical Director for Programs and Research, securing new grant funding and managing programs related to diabetes care management and childhood obesity prevention. ARCADIA HONORS MUSICIAN & AHS ALUM JOE RAMSEY The Arcadia community is coming together to honor well-known musician and beloved AHS alum Joe Ramsey, who died recently at the age of 58, following a years-long battle with health problems. On Saturday, Feb. 21, from 7 pm to midnight, the Arcadia High School Alumni Association is presenting a benefit memorial concert at Santa Anita Park in Mr. Ramsey’s honor. Santa Anita is also dedicating the day’s last thoroughbred horse race in his memory, and the City of Arcadia has proclaimed Feb. 21 Joe Ramsey Day. Mayor Pro-Tem Gary Kovacic will present the proclamation in the Winner’s Circle immediately following The Joe Ramsey Memorial Race. As a founding member of the rock groups The Prime Movers and Dread Zeppelin, both of which featured fellow Arcadia musicians, Mr. Ramsey rose to prominence as a bass player, guitarist and vocalist during the heyday

71st Annual Temple City Camellia Festival Slated Feb. 22 FESTIVAL, FAMILY & FUN is the theme for the 71st Annual Camellia Festival, which will take place from Friday, February 20 to Sunday February 22 at Temple City Park. Carnival hours are Friday (4:0010:00 pm), Saturday (11:00 am-10:00 pm), and Sunday (12:00 noon-8:00 pm) with the Parade held Saturday at 10:00 am. The Royal Court will ride down Las Tunas Drive in the Camellia Parade Saturday morning, February 21st beginning at 10:00 am. You will want to make sure to arrive early in order to watch the Tiger Squadron fly over of the parade route, which will kick off the parade. The Grand Marshall for this year’s parade is actor David Kirk Grant who is a wonderful product of the Temple City Unified Schools performing arts program. In recognition of the 70th anniversary
of the end of WWII, the Festival is proud to honor several local WWII Veterans as Honorary Grand Marshalls. A reception in their honor will be held on Sunday, February 22nd at 12 noon in the pavilion atTemple City Park, and the public is invited.
