On Monday, January 12, 2015, at approximately 8:15 a.m., deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Temple City Sheriff’s Station responded to an “armed robbery” call at the “Olive Garden” restaurant located at The Shops at Montebello, unincorporated South San Gabriel. When deputies arrived, they learned that the suspect, a male adult, entered the “Olive Garden” restaurant before it opened for business. The suspect robbed the location as well as the five employees who were inside. The lone suspect held the employees at gunpoint and stole an unknown amount of cash from the restaurant receipts. Preliminary investigation also revealed that several of the employees were accosted by the suspect; however, no injuries were reported. Although the “Olive Garden” restaurant is in close proximity to California State Route 60, it is unknown at this time how the suspect escaped. LASD Major Crimes Bureau was requested to assist and is leading this investigation in conjunction with Temple Station investigators. Surveillance video from the restaurant and nearby Montebello mall is being reviewed by investigators. Anyone with informa-
