Registered Nurses at Huntington Hospital voice serious concerns at Thursday rally
On Thursday, November 20, 2014, the City of Baldwin Park, Department of Recreation and Community Services will host a special opening reception at the Arts & Recreation Center located at 14403-B E. Pacific Avenue, adjacent to City Hall from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. The reception is free and open to the public. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served throughout the evening. The exhibit opens November 17 and runs through December 20. Baldwin Park will explode with color when artist, Rey Armenteros, exhibits his paintings, a series of work which turns memories into fortune-telling cards. Using a unique process in which he assembles his painted memories into “flat toys,” as he views them, Armenteros describes his work as twodimensional sculptures that are built from the parts of paintings. “When I put a painting together, I attempt to get the look of bright plastic,” Please see page 5
