Based on the success of the initial deployment, GWP and CEIVA will work together to deliver additional energy savings tools to customers, including smart thermostats. All customers will continue to receive CEIVA’s “glanceable” in-home display, which collects data directly from homeowners’ digital meters, analyzes the data and converts it into compelling, personalized messages and visuals. After a rail safety improvement project approved by the Glendale City Council, Grandview & San Fernando intersection is now open! The rail safety improvement included widening Grandview Avenue between San Fernando Road and Air Way and installing a traffic signal at the Grandview Avenue and Air Way intersection. In November of 2012, the City of Glendale held a press conference with Metrolink to introduce the new sealed corridor project. As part of Metrolink's ongoing effort to create sealed corridors throughout its system, the commuter rail agency began construction at four crossings in the cities of Glendale and Los Angeles. The crossing upgrades include roadway widening, new automatic vehicle exit gates, sidewalks, handrails, automatic pedestrian gates and traffic signal advance preemption technology. Metrolink worked with Glendale City Council to provide safety improvements on the Metrolink system to reduce the possibility of accidents, collisions and other incidents.
