Disneyland Urges Health Officials to Declare Park Safe After Measles Outbreak by estefania zavala An outbreak of measles in Disneyland visitors in January and early February caused park officials to ask the California health department to stress the safety of the park in press releases. The outbreak warnings began on Jan. 7 when health officials warned the public that nine cases of the measles, seven cases in California and two in Utah, had been traced back to visits to the Disneyland amusement park. There was only one instance of measles in a person who had been vaccinated, according to an NBC News timeline. Panic ensued from those statements, resulting in the University of California requiring its future students to be vaccinated for measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox, meningococcus, tetanus, and whooping cough; under a plan set to take effect in

Paul Revere Park Celebrates Grand Opening The City's newest park, Paul Revere Park (160 West Guinida Lane), recently opened to hundreds of excited community members and families. The new park features a beach volleyball court, playground area, exercise stations, picnic areas, a gazebo, beach volleyball court, playground area, landscape irrigation and planting, security lights, exercise stations, hardscape (concrete and decomposed granite walkways) and a one-of-a kind mosaic mural depicting Paul

Revere's infamous midnight ride. The beautiful mural at the park entry is the park's focal point. The mural was created using drawings from students at nearby Paul Revere Elementary. Photos of the park may be seen at the City’s Facebook page.
Few service organizations have had the lasting legacy and history as Assistance League® Anaheim, a Chapter of National Assistance League. This year, this all volunteer not-for-profit organization, celebrates 75 years of serving the Anaheim community. Some of these services include providing school uniforms and hygiene kits through Operation School Bell, books and vision care to children in need in the elementary schools; personal care packages to the police for victims of violence and, much more. To continue their mission to serve the community Assistance League Anaheim is always looking for new members. Each year their fund raising fashion show, silent auction and luncheon raises the necessary monies to benefit the less fortunate students and members of our community.
