ABOUT THE PROGRAM
TAMPA BAY MOVES FORWARD TOGETHER
WHAT THE CAUSEWAY IS
A TAMPA BAY TIMES COMMUNITY PLATFORM — AND A PLACE FOR COMPANIES TO STAND IN IT The Causeway is the Tampa Bay Times' year-round cause marketing platform. It pairs the reporting craft of the region's largest news organization with a structured way for a company to take a visible, accountable role in the issues shaping this place — hunger, housing, education, health and opportunity. Partners fund and join the work. They do not direct the coverage. That line is what makes the association worth having, and it is the reason this program can promise a company something an ad campaign cannot: credibility that was earned in public.
STORYTELLING
PARTICIPATION
MEASUREMENT
Original reporting and video published outside the paywall, made by the cause marketing team.
Every campaign carries one clear community action — attendance, volunteering, applications, giving.
Scorecards that separate reach from participation, so the outcome is legible to a board.
THE PLATFORM
TAMPA BAY ALREADY DOES THE WORK. THE CAUSEWAY MAKES SURE THE REGION SEES IT.
WHY PARTNERS JOIN
GOOD WORK, TOLD CREDIBLY. AND BUILT ON TOGETHER. The Causeway is the Tampa Bay Times' year-round platform for community action: original storytelling that people trust, participation designed to produce a real local outcome, and the reach of the region's largest news organization behind both. Partners take a visible role in that work — never in the editorial judgment behind it.

LET'S PICK THE ISSUE YOU WANT TO BE KNOWN FOR HOW IT WORKS FROM SIGNATURE TO SCORECARD 1 · PLAN TOGETHER
2 · PRODUCE AND PUBLISH
3 · REPORT AND RENEW
We agree the issue, the audience outcome and the calendar, then confirm formats, inventory and flighting in a written campaign plan.
The cause marketing team makes the stories and videos, publishes them outside the paywall, and hands over an approved sharing suite.
Scorecards separate content performance, reach, event participation and community-action signals, then set the renewal roadmap.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU FOUR SHORT CONVERSATIONS 1. The community issue your company is already close to. 2. The audience action worth measuring — attendance, volunteers, applications, giving. 3. Your calendar: the moment in the year this has to land. 4. Who signs, and what your legal and brand teams need to see.
WHAT YOU GET BACK
A written campaign plan that defines the strategy before execution begins, including audiences, key messages, confirmed formats, channel mix, flighting and timing. It will also include a content calendar, activation brief and measurement framework with clear KPIs and reporting expectations, all aligned and approved before production begins.
