The annual Awards are a showcase of Victorian building design talent in the market right now, as well as the talent emerging from our TAFEs. The entries showed the breadth of advantages to using a qualified Building Designer or Architect, exhibiting good design, combined with aesthetics, great function and high levels of sustainability.
Not only is the Building Design of the Year, Earth House by Maxa Design, a boundary-pushing sustainable project in which every element of the home and site have been considered for holistic sustainable design, materials and performance, to Passive House and beyond, it is also a house you’d love to live in!
This year’s Awards were given to residential and non-residential projects located in Brunswick, Coburg, Donvale, Heidelberg West, Ivanhoe, Ivanhoe East, Prahran, Richmond, Ringwood, Somerville, South Melbourne, Springvale, Surrey Hills, and Werribee South; as well the regional Victorian towns of Portarlington, Ocean Grove, Inverloch and Trentham.
