Band Takes 1st Place at Contest By: Gunner Delp
The DeKalb Tiger Pride Band took part in the marching competition in Cameron on October 18th, 2025. Due to their performance, the Tigers took home the 1st place trophy for 1A bands. The Band consists of 24 members, 5 of whom were unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts. The Tiger Pride Band prevailed in spite of its missing members and did great in the competition. “They did the absolute best they could in the situation,” says Band Director Angie King. 7th grader AJ Larabee states, “We played our parts well,” although Junior Cole Kovac feels as though, “We could use more practice.” I personally, seeing as I am in the band, feel like we could work more on our marching.
