Baseball Has a Great Week By: Bella Beems
This week was a busy week for our DeKalb baseball team. To start off the week, the boys had a home game on Monday April 6, against North Nodaway with a final score of 16-3, with Tigers in the win. Later on in the middle of the week, on Wednesday April 8, there was another home game against Meadville (Linn County) with another winning score of 2-1. “This week went really well, having a 2-0 week and moving 3-2 overall,” says Coach Matthews, explaining the winsto-losses ratio has gone up thanks to this week. “We hit the ball good,” says one of the team’s main pitchers, Junior Cooper Wachtel. For the rest of the week, the Tigers are going to focus mainly on baserunning and just making sure they get reps in in order to prepare for the following week’s back to back games. The coming up week is packed for the Tigers, on Monday April 14, Tigers will play against South Holt, on Tuesday at and against Platte Valley, and Friday at home against Stanberry.
