NHS Travels to Elementary to Serve Thanksgiving Meal By: Grayson Moore
On Wednesday, November 19th, De Kalb’s NHS members travelled to Rushville to serve Thanksgiving Dinner to elementary students and famiy members who were able to attend. New NHS member Michaela Copeland says,“We were there to earn more hours for community service and to serve the elementary students as well as their guests. I had a good time getting to know some of the students and seeing them enjoying the meal as well.” The students that went were Michaela Copeland, Grace Downing, Miley Phillips, Camry Hanshaw, Cole Kovac, Josie Long, Kenzie Pflugradt, Presli Punzo, Ceci Sherlock, and Cooper Wachtel. Although NHS sponsor was unable to attend because of maternity leave, the NHS members were still ready to volunteer!
