BASEBALL SEASON GETS UNDERWAY BY: MARSHALL JONES On March 27, the De Kalb baseball team started practicing for the upcoming season. There are many new players, and we are excited to see how this year goes for them. Junior Brayden Bowen says “I started playing baseball my freshman year. My favorite position to play is center field. I am looking forward to playing and my goal is to win. My favorite memory was when Landon got mad and stomped on his glove. Coach Aaron Matthews is hopeful and “looking forward to being outside. We have a lot of new players that haven't had much experience with baseball so teaching them the fundamentals will hopefully improve the game for them.” One of Coach Matthews’ goals “is hopefully to be competitive in all our games. There is a lot of young, inexperience so we have a lot of work to do, but it should be a fun ride.”
