Aligned with the BCIT vision, mission, and values, BCIT’s People Plan prioritizes initiatives that advance wellbeing, growth, belonging, and transformation.

CULTIVATE HEALTHY ENVIRONMENTS We share responsibility for the physical and psychological wellbeing of the BCIT community by prioritizing health, wellness, safety, and accessibility. Our care for employees and students is connected to our commitment to reconciliation and sustainability. We respect and nurture the lands and environments that sustain us. 1. Grow our safety culture through physical and psychological health and safety. 2. Enhance and increase access to Wellness Works initiatives and seek collaboration with Student Success. 3. Promote clear roles, responsibilities, and decision-making authority to keep work healthy and sustainable.

GROW OUR PEOPLE BCIT recruits, develops, promotes, and retains people from diverse backgrounds to drive student success and enhance employee experience. We prioritize inclusivity in recruitment and ensure equitable access to professional development, continuous learning, and leadership development for employees. 1. Cultivate progressive recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes. 2. Enhance professional development opportunities for employees, with an emphasis on career growth and advancement. 3. Nurture leadership development, capabilities, and outcomes. 4. Develop talent plans (selection, onboarding, development, retention) for skilled trades and emerging priorities.
