xperience the celebration of the decade with a âRoaring â20s Old Hollywoodâ themed Mildly Wild New Yearâs Eve party at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens on Tuesday, December 31, from 6 to 10 p.m. Guests are invited to ring in 2020 and have a roaring time with tray-passed appetizers, a delicious three-course plated dinner packed with favorite â20s themed foods, cash bar, one drink ticket, and a complimentary champagne toast (21+) during the live broadcast of the Times Square ball drop at 9 p.m. The evening also includes live entertainment, dancing, and unique animal encounters. âThe Mildly Wild New Yearâs Eve event benefits our educational
and conservation programs and is a wonderful way to experience the countdown to 2020,â said Allen Monroe, President/CEO of The Living Desert. âWe invite everyone to dress the part and celebrate New Yearâs Eve at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens.â Tickets for the Mildly Wild New Yearâs Eve Party are $125 for members and $140 for non-members. The Christmas Spirit Some people go overboard when it comes to holiday decorations. Take the driver who was pulled over by a Washington State Trooper who spotted his overly decorated SUV traveling down a local highway. He pulled the car over and gave the driver a stern warning that Christmas lights and ornaments might just be a hazard. The patrolâs public information officer tweeted photos of the car, a tweet that was not so
well received by the majority of recipients. As one recipient put it in response to the posting: âNice use of resources. Iâd say let the lights go and actually pull over people who are breaking dangerous traffic laws.â Another compared the trooper to the Grinch. The Association of Mature American Citizens [www.amac.us] provides the Filler Files as a service on issues of concern to Americans over 50.
