ancy Wilson is celebrated as a seminal musician in rock ânâ roll history. A guitar virtuoso from the age of 9, Wilson (and her sister Ann Wilson) have led the multi-platinum rock group, Heart, who have sold upwards of 35 million albums. Wilson is revered as an ingenious guitar player, blending elements of flamenco and classical guitar with hard rock, and sheâs also a gifted vocalist as can be heard on Heartâs first Number One hit, âThese Dreams.â As a songwriter, she has co-written a collection of indelible songs that has earned its way into the classic rock canon (âMagic Man,â âCrazy on You,â âBarracuda,â âStraight Onâ). In 2013, Heart was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Heartâs debut album, âDreamboat Annie,â was followed by âLittle Queenâ in 1977 which reached number 11 on the Billboard charts. The bandâs third album, âMagazine,â was released pre-emptively with unfinished tracks and was later recalled. The groupâs fourth release, âDog & Butterfly,â was written over the course of a single day and released in 1978, selling a million copies within the first month and going platinum, the bandâs fourth million-selling album.

Next up was âHeart,â followed by âBad Animals,â âDesire Walks Onâ and even a Christmas album. In total, Heart has released around 18 albums as a group, and in 2019, Nancy Wilson released her own solo album, âYou and Me.â Wilson has also built a successful career as a film composer, including scores for the Cameron
Crowe (now her ex-husband) films âSay AnythingâŚ,â âAlmost Famous,â âVanilla Skyâ and âElizabethtown.â During an era when females in rock and roll were scarce, Nancy Wilson carved out a place for women to front rock bands and dominate on stage. Her icon status and high energy performance make this show a must-see. The concert is held on Saturday, July 16 at The Show, Agua Caliente Casino, 32250 Bob Hope Drive in Rancho Mirage.
