Ayah (Dad) captures moments of his children with his good sketches. I capture moments of my Intan with my photography. They are both the same thing, “capturing moments.” These are sketches Ayah did of me which were buried in his many drawings, for 50 years! The above says, “Wan Zawiyah (my mom), singing lullabies to sooth Bazuki to sleep.” The other picture says, “Bazuki, sleeping well in her mother’s lap after one whole day busy playing.”
to Ma, for believing that I can make a living out of the thing that I enjoy doing the most, making pictures.
THE FIRST TWENTY FIVE YEARS
“You don’t have to make a book about me. You can just turn on your computer, and you can see my pictures.” I responded... “Aisyah, I am very sure that when you are 30, you will ask me for this book...” Aisyah gave me “that” CHEEKY smile of hers. At that time, I was making “Aisyah, The First TWELVE Years.” It was in 2007. Year 2010, when Aisyah was 15, fifteen years before she turned 30, she asked... “Ayah, can I borrow that book. I want to show it to my friends.” I gave her my cheeky smile. She understood what I meant. Year 2014, “Ayah, can you make that book about me again, my first TWENTY ONE years?” Again, I gave her my cheeky smile, and again, she gave me hers. And now I am making her “..... The First TWENTY FIVE Years.”
