Bayside Council supports seniors to access activities that support their wellbeing and continued participation in, and contribution to, the social and economic life of the community. Senior citizens centres and groups, are run from local venues by seniors who volunteer their time to offer a range of activities such as:  Senior centres where people can meet and socialise  Health and fitness programs and activities  Socialisation and learning based classes  Interest and language based get togethers


Senior Citizens Centres Bayside’s welcoming senior citizens centres offer a range of activities for older people in Bayside. New members are always welcome. For more information, contact your nearest centre.

Ramsgate Senior Citizens Centre Keeping active for seniors is essential for our physical and psychological wellbeing. Ramsgate Senior Citizens Centre provides opportunities for social interaction with likeminded people. Activities Include Cards and rummikub, craft, fitness exercise, meditation, scrabble, tai chi, social garden group, table tennis and yoga. Join Mascot seniors and help the members continue this wonderful tradition that has provided so many with long standing friendships and mind and body activities to keep fit and healthy. A place for you to meet new friends, learn a new craft, be active or just visit for a “cuppa and a chat.”

A long-established senior citizens centre that offers social support, and scrabble activities such as chair yoga, indoor bowls, tai chi, line dancing and organised outings.

Health and Fitness Finding an exercise-based activity to keep you fit and active is important at all ages, whether you’re interested in fitness, strength and balance, or gentle exercise, there is something for you in Bayside. The following groups provide local health and fitness services for older people.

Walking Football (Soccer) @ Bayside Walking Football NSW runs a weekly game designed for older adults and those with limited physical abilities to participate in a regular activity with physical and social benefits. It is a mixed gender game that involves passing the ball while walking. Go along to the field and have a look or take your boots and join in on a game. Want to share your views?

There are organisations you can contact if you have concerns or need advice about your aged care services. You can discuss your options with advocates who can speak on your behalf to service providers if you wish. Advocates act confidentially and need your permission before taking any action.
