WHAT IS THE BAYOU ACADEMY FOUNDATION?
The Bayou Academy Foundation is composed of a board of directors that work to fundraise for projects for the overall betterment of Bayou Academy
It is made up of volunteers that are associated through the school as parents, grandparents, alumni, and staff
The BA Board of Directors meet monthly to develop fundraising initiatives that benefit all areas of the school Some of the more known events include the annual Men’s Social, Annual Fund Drives Granville Scholarship Courtyard Bricks and more
I wanted to take a brief moment to expound on a part of our mission that I believe is huge for us Empowering Empowerment can be interpreted in multiple ways, but I would like to share what it means at Bayou Academy and why it's a vital part of our mission
A LETTER FROM OUR HEAD OF SCHOOL
To empower is to give someone the means to achieve something. It means having control over one ’ s own life. Empowerment, at times, can be tough to accomplish. It may look different depending on the situation, but in each instance, it requires all parties to step outside of their comfort zones. We included empowerment in our mission statement because we believe that it is our responsibility not only to educate the child but also to prepare them for success once they leave our halls It is a great feeling to see a graduate navigate through college/work/life with the confidence that comes from preparation Sometimes the word empowerment may sound like cutting ties and leaving someone to do something alone That is not our view We believe in preparing our students for the times they may be or feel alone, but we aim to do so while building a relationship and offering guidance when needed
Preparation comes from gradually dealing responsibilities to our students and having guiding conversations throughout the process Growth in this area is possible in all stages of life, and we are so glad that our parents have chosen to partner with us in this job It is not easy, as anything worth doing is not, but it is a road we believe is necessary and worth it to ensure that our students are ready to take on the world
God Bless,
Will Reed, Head of School
able to sustain greatness over generations are, almost without exception, those with the strongest endowments
THE BAYOU ACADEMY ENDOWMENT FUND
While other schools have larger endowments, Bayou has built an excellent school by making exceptionally careful use of our resources and through the generous support of the Bayou Family, year after year Just think of what we could accomplish if we also had a truly strong endowment!
What can the Endowment Fund do?
Invest in innovative program ideas, take risks and continue pursuing new ways to enhance our current educational experience for students
Attract, develop, and retain the strongest faculty in an increasingly competitive environment
Provide an accessible education by controlling tuition growth
Maintain and enhance our campus without relying as heavily on tuition or campaigns
Sustain a financially strong school through fluctuations in the economy and environment
Guarantee that Bayou Academy will survive and thrive for future generations of students.
