Meaningful Milestones

COMM YOU NITY

Welcome!

A Message from Nicholas M. Christ

Every year offers new opportunities and 2025 was no exception. It is my distinct honor to announce that Marie Pellegrino has made history, becoming the first female President of BayCoast Bank, marking a defining milestone as our respected financial institution enters its 175th year of service to the community.

Marie, who was promoted to her new position in December 2025, brings exceptional knowledge and expertise to her new role. She manages the BayCoast organization and its comprehensive Family of Financial Solutions, helping customers achieve their banking, lending, insurance, and wealth management goals.

If you haven’t already, please take a moment to congratulate Marie on this outstanding achievement. I will remain as the Bank’s Chief Executive Officer, while expanding my role as Chair of the Board.

I sincerely appreciate everyone’s hard work and dedication throughout the past year and look forward to new opportunities in 2026.

A Message from Marie Pellegrino

I am honored to serve as President of the BayCoast organization, providing our neighbors with the comprehensive solutions they need to improve their financial wellness.

Over the past year, we have deepened our role as a steward of the community by expanding financial literacy programs designed to help individuals and families build more confident relationships with money. Financial knowledge is more than just information; it’s the beginning of a lasting journey toward stability, opportunity, and financial freedom.

Supporting our community extends beyond education. Through dynamic volunteerism, our employees have dedicated more than 10,000 hours to causes that lift our region. Together, we have advanced vital initiatives with the shared goal of creating a stronger, more resilient future for all.

When we ask our neighbors, “How can we help you?” we are strengthening our commitment to the cherished communities we call home, and those who place their trust in us.

Respectfully, Warmly,

Horacio’s Inc.

They “Made That” with Support from BayCoast!

When you drive up to grab your morning coffee at Dunkin’ or venture to the waterfront for dinner at Cisco’s Brewery, chances are you’ve seen the meticulous work completed by Horacio’s Inc., a family business with an impressive presence here on the South Coast and across the country.

With 46 years serving businesses in our community and beyond, Horacio’s is the quintessential American success story.

What began as a small sheet metal fabricating company, has evolved into a nationallyrecognized innovator, operating from its recently expanded 80,000 square foot headquarters located in the New Bedford Business Park at 64 Vertente Boulevard.

“We Made That”

At Horacio’s, their slogan “We Made That” isn’t a boast, it’s a badge of pride. As a local company competing in a demanding industry, the phrase reflects the team’s commitment to bringing bold ideas and complex business concepts to life with uncompromising craftsmanship. From precision fabricated stainless steel, stone and solid surface countertops to custom millwork, kitchen exhaust and HVAC systems, marine fabrication, and specialty projects for restaurants, hospitals, and universities, Horacio’s delivers excellence at every scale. Whether the job is large, small, or completely one of a kind, they stand behind every project with the same pride.

Horacio’s serves thousands of clients including well-known brands like Dunkin’, Chick-fil-A, and Jersey Mike’s, as well as local businesses such as Southcoast Health, Cisco’s Brewery, and The Pink Bean. All experience the same high-level, impeccable attention to detail that Horacio’s is known to deliver.

Established in 1980, Horacio’s is named for the man who started it all, Horacio Tavares, a father and businessman who passed down his passion for precision to his son Michael, who currently serves as CEO and continues to shape the business for the future. “Our company’s founding father, my father, is at the heart of what we do,” said Michael Tavares. “My father’s name means something and we’re proud to say we work at Horacio’s. I’ve always wanted to expand our reach and build on what my father started. While he’s retired now, I still run ideas by him. I’m always looking ahead, developing plans to see where the business can go.”

Tavares continues, “I work long hours. Having BayCoast as a partner puts my mind at ease. They are an extension of my team and at the end of the day, with the Bank’s expertise, I can put my focus on the business and never have to worry.”

Michael says he’s grateful for the banking relationship that has developed and grown throughout the years between his family and our BayCoast family, which he believes has played a meaningful role in Horacio’s success. “We’ve had a lot of banks knock on our doors. They call us all the time, and I know many of those who reach out. But this is business and I trust BayCoast Bank.”

That trusted relationship started 15 years ago when Paula Freitas, now First Vice President and Regional Manager for BayCoast Bank, began working with the Tavares family to assist them with the company’s business banking needs. Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer Carl Taber was also available to assist on the commercial side.

Notes Freitas, “when a business succeeds like Horacio’s, it’s nice to know you’re a part of something special in our community. At BayCoast, we are team players and genuinely care about our customers. We want to help them in any way that we can.” Adds Taber, “Horacio’s truly is the embodiment of the American Dream. They’ve worked their way from the ground up and it has been incredible to witness first-hand their innovation, growth, and success.”

Horacio’s customers have high praise for the company’s work ethic and care they put into every detail, ensuring an exceptional product. It’s a theme that aligns with BayCoast Bank’s own mission and values, something Michael believes makes a big difference. “We’re all a family and I truly believe that when you surround yourself with good people, good things happen. With BayCoast, it has truly been a genuine partnership, and you simply cannot put a price on that.”

Honoring Sacrifice with Swift Action

BayCoast Bank Provides Vital Assistance for Bristol County

Veterans

The Veterans Association of Bristol County (VABC) has long been a place where those who have served our nation find not only support but a sense of family. For many, the organization represents more than just a community center, it is a lifeline built on shared experiences and camaraderie.

Founded in 1987, the Fall River-based nonprofit assists thousands of veterans across Bristol County, offering vital services such as a clothing center, food pantry, hot lunches, peer support, and wellness programs. The

organization’s mission is to ensure that veterans receive the care, resources, and dignity they deserve.

With demand for these essential services continuing to rise, the VABC has outgrown its long-time Pine Street location. To better meet the needs of local veterans, the nonprofit secured a new, larger facility that will allow for significant expansion. The new space will feature a commercial kitchen, providing opportunities for culinary training and job programs for veterans interested in

learning more about the food industry. The larger space will make it possible to serve more veterans, offer more programs, and build an even stronger sense of community.

When the VABC needed swift, expedited financing for the purchase of its new building, BayCoast Bank stepped in to help. The Bank worked closely with the organization to ensure the process moved smoothly from start to finish. In addition to the financing, BayCoast provided a generous grant to help sustain and grow the VABC’s programs and services, a gesture that underscores BayCoast’s deep commitment to supporting veterans and the South Coast community.

With a move to its new headquarters expected in the spring of 2026, excitement is building. The vast new space promises greater access to resources, more opportunities for connection, and deeper community involvement, ensuring that Bristol County’s veterans continue to have a place where they can find support and a family-like community they deserve.

Expanding Our Commitment to Financial Literacy

Education. It’s what helps propel the members of our community to achieve financial wellness. In 2025, our BayCoast organization strengthened its role as a trusted financial education partner across the region. Guided by a focus to empower individuals to take control of their financial futures, we expanded our outreach, deepened community partnerships, and helped our neighbors improve their financial stability.

Expanding Access Through Collaboration

One of our proudest accomplishments this year was the impact made through collaborative partnerships. Together with The Advocacy Bridge, Old Colony YMCA Transition Houses, and our Youth Banking Program, we helped young participants open their first bank accounts and begin ongoing financial literacy training. This initiative reflects our belief that personalized support can change lives.

We continued this momentum through our partnership with YouthBuild New Bedford, opening Youth Banking Accounts for the entire YouthBuild summer cohort. Our team also delivered a series of financial literacy courses to YouthBuild participants, resulting in positive feedback and stronger relationships between students and branch employees.

Doubling Adult Financial Literacy Outreach

In 2025, we increased the number of adult financial literacy seminars by an impressive 100%. These workshops reached 1,054 adults across 73 in-person sessions, covering essential topics such as budgeting, debt management, homeownership readiness, and long-term planning.

Individualized Support

Working with young adults, particularly foster youth, highlighted ongoing systemic obstacles affecting access to banking services. Instead of seeing these barriers as setbacks, our team approached each challenge as an opportunity to innovate, problem-solve, and advocate. By offering individualized guidance and rethinking internal processes, we ensured that every young person felt supported, valued, and included.

Team Excellence and Innovation

We were honored to receive national recognition from the American Bankers Association for our financial literacy efforts. This is a testament to the dedication of our employees and the strength of our community partnerships.

Internally, we launched new processes designed to streamline and enhance both School Banking and Youth Banking operations. Collaboration with Community Banking and Deposit Operations played a crucial role in these improvements. Another achievement in 2025 was the launch of RightStart Account. Designed for kids ages 6 through 17, the account provides young customers with a debit card, while giving parents card controls that provide complete oversight. An exciting element to this account is our Learn2Earn Rewards program, where kids earn cash bonuses for completing age-appropriate financial literacy activities. This innovative account supports BayCoast’s long-term vision for nurturing financially confident future adults.

Looking Ahead

As we enter 2026, we remain committed to breaking down financial barriers and equipping individuals and families with the tools they need to succeed. Through expanded partnerships, innovative programming, employee excellence, and a shared belief in the power of education, we are building stronger, more financially resilient communities, one workshop at a time.

Helping Students in Our Community

With education as a primary focus, BayCoast Bank helped Stuff the Bus by collecting school supplies for local students in need through the 2025 Kids, Cops & Classrooms campaign. In partnership with NBC10, Rhode Island State Police, Ocean State Job Lot, and Cardi’s Furniture, over 2,000 backpacks were filled and distributed to area students, providing essential school supplies for a successful year.

One of the organizations receiving backpacks was the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center in Newport, RI. Celebrating more than 100 years of service, the nonprofit’s mission is to nourish, educate, and support Newport County residents, helping to improve their economic, social, and physical well-being.

The agency expressed its sincere gratitude for supplying backpacks to many children served by their organization.

Showing Up for Our Community

Answering a Rising Need with Decisive Action

With economic uncertainty and reductions in government funding, more nonprofit organizations on the South Coast are having an increasing reliance on corporate financial support.

In 2025, BayCoast developed meaningful ways to balance the heightened volume of funding requests while still helping to meet the rising needs of the community.

Our solution – we deepened relationships with local organizations through collaborations that extended well beyond writing a check. We “showed up” and offered a comprehensive approach to community engagement simply by being there and doing what’s right.

174

Boards & Committees Served

10,098

Total Hours Volunteered in 2025

With 10,098 hours dedicated to community involvement, BayCoast employees had a powerful presence, donating their skills and expertise for initiatives that help our community thrive. This engagement has not only helped others, but also brought our own BayCoast family closer together, broadening our overall impact as an organization. We directed this assistance to numerous nonprofits in the areas of education, as well as health and human services including The Miriam Hospital, SouthCoast Community Foundation, People Acting in Community Endeavors, NorthStar Learning Centers, People Incorporated, Coalition for Health Equity and Early Development, Nativity Preparatory School, and the SEAL Foundation, to name a few.

Additionally, BayCoast set out to help our communities by offering to provide organizations with guidance and resources beyond monetary support in the areas of Financial Literacy, Small Business Education, Retirement & Asset Building, as well as Housing Needs, and Deposit & Savings products.

Assistance comes in many forms, and our BayCoast family has shown strong dedication in making a difference, wherever the need might be.

Repaired & Renewed A New Beginning for New Bedford’s Historic Talbot Apartments

A new beginning is celebrated in New Bedford, Massachusetts, as the restoration of the historic Talbot Apartments, devastated by a three-alarm fire in November of 2022, is complete. The fourstory residence has reopened, providing muchneeded affordable housing near the city’s

housing to some of the most vulnerable members of the South Coast community.

“BayCoast Bank is proud to have provided funding support to CABH, as the organization took on the massive rehabilitation of the Talbot Apartments, restoring the building to its former splendor,” said Carl Taber, Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer for the Bank. “The newly preserved landmark will offer 26 mixed-income, single-residence units to help address the ongoing need for affordable housing in the city.”

BayCoast is offering additional support to tenants by providing robust financial education programs. “We look forward to teaching skills and strategies that help empower our neighbors to manage

Cultivating Young Entrepreneurs

A Look at Holy Trinity School’s Hydroponics Program

History, math, and mustard-flavored microgreens?

Holy Trinity School in Fall River is taking science class to a whole new level, giving students an experience that feeds both their curiosity and appetite for entrepreneurship. Through the school’s hydroponics program, pre-K through eighth graders are getting hands-on lessons in how to sustainably produce…produce.

Their flavorful focus: microgreens. Growing these tiny-but-mighty greens involves measuring nutrient-rich water, monitoring pH levels, and timing harvests with precision. Students handle every detail, cultivating more than 50 varieties of greens that range in flavor from sweet to spicy.

The unique program has blossomed into a small business called Trinity Greens, and local chefs are eating it up. The greens aren’t just delicious; they’re impressively consistent in quality.

“The students really love being a part of this program,” said Kevin J. Flynn, Director of Development & Strategic Planning. “They not only learn how to grow the microgreens, but they also get a taste of what it’s like to run a small business and the critical thinking that goes along with it.”

BayCoast Bank is proud to provide funding for the appetizing initiative.

“Holy Trinity School is grateful for the continued support from BayCoast Bank,” said Principal Brenda Gagnon. “Our Trinity Greens project is such a unique learning opportunity, and having the support of a business that is so prominent in the community is a blessing.”

Sustainability in Action Continued Improvements Driving Lasting Environmental Benefits

The BayCoast organization made meaningful progress toward its Environmental Sustainability Action Plan in 2025, focusing on energy efficiency, reduced environmental impact, operational savings, and building long-term resilience for the organization. Here’s a closer look at our efforts this past year.

Energy Efficient Improvements

BayCoast upgraded all parking lot and canopy lighting to energy efficient LEDs, completing the transition that began in 2024 with interior fixtures. These improvements reduced energy consumption, cut maintenance needs, and enhanced nighttime visibility. Multiple branch locations also received high-efficiency heat pumps with lower global warming impact refrigerants. Also, an outdated oil furnace was removed, further reducing emissions and improving overall building heating and cooling efficiency within the branch network.

E-waste Recycling Program

Launched in late 2025, BayCoast’s new E-waste recycling program provides employees and directors with an easy way to responsibly recycle old electronics, diverting hazardous materials from entering the waste stream.

Water Conservation

Low-flow toilets, faucets, and showerheads were installed across all BayCoast restrooms to reduce water consumption, lower utility costs, and support regional water conservation efforts.

Climate Risk Preparedness

To better understand climate-related threats, BayCoast implemented a new Geospatial Information System (GIS) tool that analyzes nationwide hazard patterns such as flooding, hurricanes, wildfires, and earthquakes. This enhanced insight helps protect both the Bank and its customers from possible future disruptions.

Sustainable Landscaping

Multiple branch locations received landscaping enhancements featuring native plants and ecological design strategies tailored to our local climate. These improvements reduce irrigation needs, support pollinators and biodiversity, lower fertilizer use, and create more resilient, climate-ready grounds.

Eco-conscious Fleet Modernization

BayCoast acquired its first hybrid fleet vehicle, marking a significant step forward in reducing fuel consumption, lowering emissions, and transitioning toward a more sustainable transportation footprint.

Building Technology for a Smarter, Safer Banking Future

A Year of Progress, Innovation & Customer Convenience

In 2025, BayCoast continued its commitment to innovation, security, and convenience, helping deliver the best banking experience for our customers and community. Here are some of the standout achievements that shaped our year.

Strengthening Account Security

Keeping our customers’ financial information safe is at the heart of everything we do. This year, we launched a new authentication enhancement for online banking, an advanced solution that uses multiple identifiers to verify user activity. This adds a powerful layer of protection to secure customer accounts.

Business Services

Businesses rely on us to help them work smarter and more efficiently, and 2025 brought key improvements. We replaced our previous Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) system with a new, more intuitive platform. The updated interface is easier to navigate and provides a smoother experience for businesses depositing checks remotely.

RightStart Account

The innovative RightStart Account is now available for young banking customers in our community. This new product is designed to help kids and teens ages 6 through 17 learn responsible money management, by empowering them with their own debit card and financial literacy. Parents have complete oversight of the account, by monitoring transactions and setting limits. A key component to this account is the powerful technology behind it, which provides robust card controls integrated directly into our mobile banking app. This gives parents and kids flexibility, convenience, and a customized banking experience.

Safeguarding Our Community Through Advanced Security

BayCoast continues to strengthen its commitment to cybersecurity excellence, implementing innovative protections that keep our employees, customers, partners, and community safe. Guided by industryleading technology, our BayCoast team remains at the forefront of modern cyber defense.

One of the year’s most notable accomplishments was the rollout of an advanced solution designed to eliminate spoofed email attacks, which is a common tactic used by cybercriminals to impersonate trusted contacts. Since its deployment, this new system has reduced spoofed messages, helping to preserve the integrity of company communications and confidential information.

BayCoast also launched a new vendor management workflow, creating a more efficient and collaborative process for onboarding and reviewing third party partners. This initiative included updating departmental procedures and training materials, ensuring teams can seamlessly adopt and benefit from the new system. As a result, cross-departmental communication has improved, and vendor due diligence is streamlined.

Beyond internal improvements, the BayCoast team extended its expertise to the broader community. Team members conducted cybersecurity education sessions for local schools and senior groups, helping individuals learn how to protect themselves from fraud, scams, and online threats.

Partnerships included organizations like the Holy Trinity School in Fall River and the Somerset Rehabilitation Center, where discussions centered on safe online behavior, consumer protection, and digital awareness.

A Standout Year for Community Banking

Community Banking celebrated impressive growth and collective achievement across our branch network in 2025. Together, the team helped drive a significant rise in new deposits, with many branches surpassing growth targets. Momentum was strong as several locations met or exceeded goals for new accounts, fueled by a surge in personal and business checking, money market activity, and expanding household relationships.

Community Banking’s commitment to collaboration also strengthened referral pipelines to our BayCoast subsidiaries, reinforcing the power of our Family of Financial Solutions to help individuals and families achieve financial wellness.

accomplishments – the continued rollout and upgrades to our fleet of Interactive Teller Machine (ITMs) as well as drive-up digital enhancements, increasing selfservice capabilities and improving the customer experience.

Throughout 2025, BayCoast’s branches, guided by an outstanding team of Regional Managers, focused on strategies to deepen relationships and strengthen customer engagement through targeted outreach and consistent follow-up. Staff members have embraced flexibility and meaningful, customer-focused conversations to maintain strong connections.

Customer satisfaction remained high across the network, supported by steady positive feedback and repeat interactions. Numerous branches achieved impressive satisfaction scores in the 90% to 100% range, demonstrating our mission of exceptional service and solutions for our community.

Community Banking made a powerful impact here in Southern New England, volunteering countless hours for local causes that assist our neighbors, from food pantry events, support for Habitat for Humanity, and YMCA fundraisers to Credit for Life financial literacy fairs, youth sports coaching, Chamber activities, and so much more. Seasonal giving programs and community cleanups further showcased our commitment.

The year also brought meaningful milestones across the branch network, highlighted by numerous employee promotions, including new Assistant Managers and Customer Service Supervisors. Several long-tenured team members marked major service anniversaries of 10, 20, or more years of dedication. Many branch staff were also selected for prestigious internal and external development opportunities, further underscoring the strength and talent within our teams.

–Celebrating 10 Years of ITM Service

Since 2015, BayCoast has helped people and businesses all over the South Coast of Massachusetts and Rhode Island bank smarter and easier.

Whether it’s early in the morning, or after work, customers have counted on BayCoast Bank’s ITMs

for dependable service beyond regular business hours for more than a decade.

Here’s to 10 years of convenient ITM service, as we continue innovating for the next decade and beyond.

Driving Housing Access & Affordability in Southern New England

In 2025, the Southern New England real estate market remained intensely competitive with limited inventory, driving an increase in housing prices. Despite these challenges, BayCoast Mortgage worked proactively to help make homeownership more attainable.

One of our most impactful solutions was through our highly-successful Down Payment Assistance (DPA) program, which offers dollarfor-dollar matching funds of up to $10,000 for eligible borrowers buying their first home.

Since its inception in 2022, BayCoast’s DPA program has provided $2 million in down payment support, helping individuals and families across the South Coast of Massachusetts and Rhode Island overcome one of the greatest hurdles to homeownership.

To further address limited housing availability in our region, BayCoast Mortgage also promoted financing solutions, such as mortgage refinances, construction and rehabilitation loans, and HELOCs, to help homeowners add Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) on their properties.

These smaller units, typically under 900 sq. ft., have become an important part of the region’s affordability strategy. Recent law changes in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island have eased zoning restrictions in many local cities and towns, giving homeowners greater flexibility to construct ADUs for rental income and/or to create living space for extended family members, while simultaneously adding to the local housing supply. Customers who have financed their ADUs with BayCoast Mortgage tell us that the additional income has been a significant financial boost.

As we move into 2026, our mortgage team continues to provide lending solutions to strengthen our communities and expand affordable housing options.

A Strong Team for a Bright Future

At BayCoast, we all know that our people remain the foundation of our success. In 2025, BayCoast Insurance fortified our team with new talent, advanced longstanding employees, and expanded professional development to meet the demands of an industry undergoing rapid transformation.

We are fully committed to growth and to embracing the technologies reshaping the insurance industry. By modernizing our digital tools and improving operational efficiency, we are positioning BayCoast Insurance to respond faster, serve smarter, and support our customers with greater precision.

As we celebrate the Bank’s 175th anniversary and our own 25-year milestone, we are preparing for the future with a robust production team and experienced leadership. Jocelyn Oliveira, FVP/COO, and Devin Stein, FVP/CSMO, continue to guide our forward momentum and help shape the next generation of insurance professionals.

Our team continued to elevate our professional expertise through new industry designations and more than 500 hours of continuing education. Equally important, our team dedicated over 600 hours of volunteer service to local nonprofits, underscoring our deep connection to the communities we serve.

“Our people are the most important aspect of our business,” says Patrick Long, President & CEO of BayCoast Insurance. “Their dedication to our customers drives everything we do. As we adopt new technologies and embrace industry change, our commitment to exceptional customer service remains constant—it is who we are and who we will continue to be.”

BayCoast Insurance moves into its next chapter focused on innovation, fueled by a skilled and dedicated team, and driven by a clear vision for continued growth.
