Welcome to the 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards for the Best of Milpitas Yes, it is here! This is a celebration of the heart and spirit of our community. This year’s feature shines a light on the restaurants, shops, schools, services, and community leaders that make Milpitas a place we’re proud to call home. Brought together through the voices of our readers from the Milpitas Post, this special section highlights the fresh discoveries and beloved favorites that continue to enrich the daily lives of both the people within our community, as well as those who come to visit and explore. What makes this annual tradition so meaningful is not simply the recognition of outstanding businesses—it’s the reminder that Milpitas thrives because of the people and places that connect us. Whether you’re exploring a new café, finding a trusted contractor, or cheering on a local teacher, the Best of Milpitas embodies the unity, pride, and shared success that fuel our community.
Each vote submitted between June 22 and July 27, 2025, was carefully reviewed and counted. While this survey isn’t scientific, it reflects the voices of residents who know and care about the city’s best there is to offer. In tight races, we’ve awarded additional Honor Awards to recognize those who came close, with some categories featuring multiple honorees thanks to strong community support. Outright winners are listed first, and in the case of ties, winners proudly share the top spots. This 24-page guide is a terrific resource for longtime locals and newcomers alike, offering trusted recommendations from neighbors who know best. Beginning next week, you can browse the full list at bestofmilpitas.com, where it will remain available all year long.
We extend our deepest appreciation to our readers, voters, and advertisers who make the Best of Milpitas possible. Congratulations to every nominee, honoree, and winner. May your contributions continue to make Milpitas shine!

GOODWILL OF SILICON VALLEY: EMPOWERING MILPITAS THROUGH THRIFTING AND OPPORTUNITY For nearly a century, Goodwill of Silicon Valley has been a trusted name in the Bay Area, not only as a place to discover thrifted treasures but also as a community partner. Goodwill of Silicon Valley is dedicated to reducing waste, protecting the environment and helping thousands of local residents each year achieve economic independence, reducing the strain on public resources. The Milpitas store carries that mission forward by offering shoppers unbeatable value while powering local programs that transform lives and the community. Thrifting at Goodwill Milpitas is a rewarding, budget-friendly experience. The clean, well-organized store is stocked with carefully selected merchandise that prioritizes quality and current styles. With a constantly refreshed selection of clothing, accessories, furniture, electronics, books, and home décor, every visit offers something new to take home. But what sets the nonprofit apart is the mission behind the shopping experience. Unlike major for-profit thrift chains, every purchase and donation directly supports underserved neighbors – including veterans, unhoused individuals, justice-involved residents, at-risk youth, and people with disabilities – as they overcome barriers to employment. Through no-cost job training, reentry support, housing assistance, and other wraparound services, Goodwill of Silicon Valley is empowering individuals to thrive in Milpitas and beyond. One of Goodwill of Silicon Valley’s most innovative efforts is based right here in Milpitas. At the Elmwood Correctional Facility, Goodwill operates the nation’s first store within a correctional setting. Women incarcerated at Elmwood gain real-world training and confidence by organizing and running the In-Custody GoodStart Store themselves, building skills in warehousing, inventory management, logistics, and sales. Upon release, every woman in custody can choose two complete outfits at no cost, helping them reenter society with dignity and a stronger foundation for employment and independence.
THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD in Milpitas
This groundbreaking initiative reflects Goodwill’s unwavering commitment to second chances, leveraging community collaboration to support rehabilitation, reduce recidivism, and equip individuals with tools to succeed upon release. The Milpitas community has embraced Goodwill not just as a store but as a neighbor and a movement for good. With convenient donation drop-off hours and a central location, Goodwill makes it easy for residents to meaningfully invest in their own community by fueling programs that create jobs, restore confidence, and change lives. At the same time, Goodwill diverts millions of pounds of usable items from local landfills each year, including an estimated 35 million pounds in 2024 alone, reducing waste and creating a cleaner, greener Silicon Valley for all. This “cycle for good” begins with a donation, continues through resale and recycling, and extends into the nonprofit’s holistic approach, which addresses the future of work, fosters long-term growth, and strengthens our community from the inside out. Shop sustainably at Goodwill Milpitas today and be part of the cycle for good. 311 W. Calaveras Blvd. Milpitas, CA 95035 (408) 998-5774

FIRM SPOTLIGHT: A PLUS TAX SERVICE – 31 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE, 5 YEARS OF INNOVATION For the thirty-first consecutive year, A Plus Tax Service has been voted “Tax Preparation and Accounting Firm of the Year” by the readers of the Milpitas Post. This distinction reflects more than three decades of community trust, consistency, and excellence. When my CPA firm, Nexxus Financial Resource Ventures acquired A Plus Tax Service in 2020, I stepped into a legacy built on accuracy, reliability, and care for every client. Over the past five years, it has been my honor to guide the firm forward, winning this designation each year from 2021 through 2025. These achievements highlight how tradition and innovation work together to create lasting value for the people and businesses we serve. A Plus Tax Service is rooted in the belief that accounting is about more than numbers. Behind every tax return is a family planning for the future, a business pursuing growth, or an individual seeking clarity. We see the human story in every set of financials, and that awareness shapes how we serve our clients—with sensitivity, attention, and a genuine commitment to their success. Our core value is that we truly love being of service. The financial world continues to evolve, and technology plays a growing role in how services are delivered. We embrace that progress by incorporating artificial intelligence into our daily workflows. These tools enhance speed and accuracy in document processing, data entry, and tax planning, allowing us to focus even more on personalized guidance and strategic conversations. Our individual clients receive tax preparation services that are accurate, efficient, and forward-looking. Business owners gain access to comprehensive tax advisory support, planning strategies, and compliance solutions designed to strengthen profitability. By blending decades of earned trust with the most advanced tools available, we deliver services that meet today’s needs while preparing for tomorrow’s opportunities. What distinguishes A Plus Tax Service is the way we integrate innovation without losing the warmth and accessibility that define us. Technology enhances our ability to connect with clients, deepening relationships and reinforcing trust. Our tradition of excellence continues, strengthened by new possibilities.
community that has supported us throughout the years. To the readers of the Milpitas Post, thank you for once again voting us “Firm of the Year.” Your confidence inspires us to continue delivering service that honors the past and embraces the future.
As the owner of A Plus Tax Service, I am grateful to lead a team that shares this vision. I thank our loyal clients, dedicated staff, and the

Might be the best taqueria I’ve been to. People go out of there way to help you and I haven’t found a bad item on the menu I come from Redwood City just to eat there. - Bobby Hayes As with the other reviews on here, Las Vegas Taqueria is fantastic. The food is amazing, the pricing competitive, and the staff is friendly. We have been going to Las Vegas for several years and it is our favorite go to restaurant in the area. - Dustin S. Family owned business. Small place but good Mexican food, friendly service, serene environment, reasonable price. I think it’s still open at midnight especially summer. It’s nice to eat outdoor in summer time. - Emmanuel Valencia (Manny)
