he Tiger Athletic Foundation, formed by a small group of dedicated Tiger fans with the support of four staff members over 30 years ago, has grown into a diverse, abundant community. Leading the charge today is TAF’s board of directors. They are business leaders, former student-athletes, donors and Tiger fans from around the country. They each bring unique perspectives and insights that help guide the organization and shape the path in its mission of providing student-athletes with the tools to succeed in the classroom, in competition, and in life. While the tools to recruit and train student-athletes have changed over the years, the mission of TAF remains the same and the generosity of donors continues to grow. With the sup32 YEARS
port of the board of directors, donors and staff, TAF continues to reach new heights with projects and programs that impact all 21 LSU varsity sports. The organization boasts a $19 million scholarship endowment and has completed more than $418 million in construction projects to benefit LSU Athletics and the University. In addition to funding facilities, the board of directors is committed to education. TAF helps to fund approximately 450 annual athletic scholarships and has provided the University $3.9 million in teaching awards and student scholarships in just over two decades. The next 30 years are sure to bring change, growth, and progress to a legendary athletic program with the help of dedicated leaders of the TAF board of directors, the generosity of its many donors, and more than 40 full-time staff members.

Hansen says all of her desserts are baked from scratch and made with the finest quality ingredients—real butter, imported chocolate, fresh nuts, real fruit, homemade caramel and whipped cream. “We never want to grow so large that we can’t continue to know each of our customers and be a part of their lives,” she says. “We grow with them from the engagement and wedding to the babies and birthdays. The friendships we’ve made are the best part of owning the bakery. It’s all about the love … and the smiles.”

s she neared graduation from LSU with a business degree, Stephanie Hansen, owner of Les Amis Bake Shoppe, wasn’t sure about her next step. While bartending at The Chimes to support herself during school, she had started baking and bringing cupcakes for the Monday morning regulars. She also enjoyed creating new flavor combinations. When her boyfriend gave her a mixer, she was hooked. “I opened Les Amis on Coursey Boulevard six years ago,” she says, “and expanded from cupcakes to cake balls, cookies and cakes. Now I’m really doing a lot of specialty wedding and celebratory cakes, and French macarons in every color and flavor.” A year ago, Hansen began serving fresh salads, paninis,
