The goal of the Tri-Cities Soccer Association is to teach the basic skills involved in and the actual game of soccer in a positive atmosphere of good sportsmanship and allow the participants to have fun and learn teamwork while doing so. Competition is a natural part of any sport, but it is not the primary object of Tri-Cities Soccer. The Association is meant to be a low-key, low-pressure recreational soccer organization.

Your Park Board is composed of five, nonpaid commissioners selected by you to serve varying terms. The Board is primarily a policy-making body that reflects the needs and interests of all taxpayers.

The Park Board meets the third Tuesday of each month at the Patrick J. Callahan Community Center, 150 Houston St., at 7 p.m.

A Message from Our Director

Dear Residents:

Summer in Batavia invites us outside to reconnect with neighbors and with the places that make our community so special. Our parks become gathering places where families play, music fills the air along the Riverwalk and new memories are made.

One of the places that captures the spirit of Batavia is the Depot Pond, the treasured centerpiece of our Riverwalk. For generations, it has been a backdrop for wedding photos, quiet reflection and community celebration. This year, the Park District continues important work to improve water quality and remove invasive plant species. Looking ahead, we are also exploring long-term improvements such as enhanced water circulation and the addition of a central fountain to keep the pond vibrant and thriving. Because Depot Pond belongs to all of us, we will soon invite residents to share their thoughts through a community survey that will help guide future decisions.

We are also excited to begin planning the revitalization of Fox Trail Park, a neighborhood park where families gather for play and peaceful walks along the nearby trail. The project will include a new playground, updated surfacing and drainage, refreshed landscaping and accessibility improvements to create a welcoming space for visitors of all abilities. Residents will be invited to participate in a public input meeting to help shape the park’s future design.

Summer also means it’s time to make a splash. Hall Quarry Beach opens for the season on May 23, featuring two new children’s water slides that will add even more excitement for our youngest swimmers. One of the most unique swimming experiences in the region, the Quarry continues to be a place where generations of Batavia families have created lasting memories.

For our youngest residents, Camp Sun-Sational and our specialty camps provide a safe and engaging environment filled with adventure, creativity and new friendships. From the arts and robotics to nature exploration and outdoor play, summer camp is where lifelong memories begin.

Parks are where community comes to life. Thank you for being part of that story.

CAMP SUN-SATIONAL REGISTRATION DEPOSIT

This $50 deposit must be completed first before registrations for individual weeks can be processed. Only those who have this deposit registration completed will be able to sign up for individual weeks. A 5% discount will be applied automatically when all 10 weeks are added to cart. After payment is collected, a follow-up email with a link will be automatically sent to you for forms to be completed before your child arrives on their first day of camp.

This fun and engaging camp is designed for kids who want to learn the basics or improve their skills in this fast-growing sport. Campers participate in ageappropriate drills, skill-building activities and friendly matches to help build confidence and develop their game in a supportive environment. This camp is ideal for first-time players and beginners with limited experience. Paddles will be provided.

Get ready for a summer full of sun, fun, and skillbuilding at our outdoor youth volleyball camp! Ultimate Frisbee Camp

Give your child an unforgettable camp experience with Chicago's professional Ultimate Frisbee team, Chicago Union. This weeklong camp teaches campers the fundamentals of Ultimate — including rules, throwing and catching techniques, and offensive and defensive strategies — through fun, structured games and activities. Campers develop athletic skills, teamwork and sportsmanship in a supportive environment. All ability levels are welcome, and every camper receives a Union disc, a replica jersey and four tickets to a home game.

Campers will explore natural habitats during that magical hour when the sunsets and the moon rises. Who comes out to visit, what sounds will be heard? Registration for the 2026-2027 School Year

Parents may register their children online at bataviaparks.org or in person at the Callahan Community Center, Civic Center or Eastside Community Center. A $25 nonrefundable registration fee and the correct deposit are due at the time of registration. Children must be potty trained to register for New Horizons. Pull-Ups-style training pants only are permissible in our Young 3s class.

Monthly Fees & Times for School Year 2026-2027

Monthly payments are due the first day of the month, September through April. A $10 late fee will be assessed after the 1st of the month. The New Horizons school year runs from early September to the end of May. If snow days are used during the school year, those days will not be made up. Beginning Aug. 1, 2026, a 50% refund will be provided to parents who decide to drop after registration.

This enrichment program follows a daily schedule of activities that give participants a well-rounded experience with STEAM learning. The afternoon session schedule starts at 1 p.m. and follows the same timeline as the morning schedule listed below:

9-9:15 a.m.: Arrival

As children arrive, they have access to books, puzzles and STEAM-themed games.

9:15-9:30 a.m.: Circle Time

The teacher leads an interactive circle that includes stories on the week’s themed topics, such as fall leaves, trees, wind and weather, or other STEAM-related topics.

Fast Pass offers flexibility for working guardians and supports our mission to provide a safe environment for children, by allowing participants to attend an extra day beyond their normal Kids’ Club commitment.

Fast Passes do not roll over into the next school year. Example: 2025–2026 school year, and August 2026. To keep rates reasonable, we do not honor exchanges or pro-rate the fast pass.

Ages 6 months-3 years w/adult

A parent or guardian must participate with the toddler. This class aims to help infants or toddlers become comfortable in and around the water with a parent or guardian. Parents will learn techniques to orient their children with the water and supervise water activities safely.

Preschool Swim Lessons

Ages 3-5

Students must be age 3 and ready to enter the water without a parent. They will learn how to enter/exit the water safely, float on their front and back, tuck and stand from the front/ back, breath-hold underwater and bobbing and kicking on front and back for 3 meters/10 feet.

Does the weather affect outdoor lessons and lap swim?

Swim lessons will be canceled if the air temperature dips less than 65 degrees, or severe weather conditions (such as thunder, lightning or tornadoes) develop. OUTDOOR AQUATICS

Level 1

Ages 4+

Students must be at least age 4 and willing to enter the water without a parent. They will learn the beginner stroke on front (face in) and back, roll onto their back from beginner stroke on front and direction change from beginner stroke. They will also become familiar jumping in, submerging, recovering for air, moving forward for 3 meters and direction change and return.

Level 2

Ages 4+

Students must complete Level 1 before registering for Level 2 and be able to demonstrate floating and kicking on front and back. They will become comfortable swimming underwater for 1 meter/3 feet, demonstrate front and back streamline with kick, side breathing position with kick and learn side-roll-side with kick. They will also become familiar jumping in, recovering to side glide and kicking for 10 meters.

Level 3

Ages 4+

Students must complete Level 2 before registering for Level 3 and be able to demonstrate combined stroke on front and back. They will become familiar with the 3 strokes stop drill, 3 strokes rest drill, 3 x 3 swim drill and treading water for 40 seconds. They will also demonstrate swimming 9 meters in a 1-2-3 breathe pattern from a side glide starting position.

Age 18+

Adult lap swim is available during the morning weekday swim lessons for adults ages 18 and older. Drop-in rate is not available during the lap times, and pre-registration is required. Registration is available throughout the summer, but the fee will not be pro-rated for late registration.

Skills and Drills - Sand Volleyball

Ages 5-8

Skills and Drills in the Sand is a fun and active class that helps players learn and build a basic understanding of volleyball. Players will receive instruction in key skills such as serving, passing, setting, attacking, and blocking, with lessons broken down into easy-to-follow progressions. Emphasis is placed on proper form, safe techniques, and teamwork, helping players gain confidence as they improve. Through hands-on participation and gamelike drills, athletes will also develop an appreciation for the sport while enjoying outdoor play at the sand volleyball courts at South Mill Creek.

This developmental league introduces young players to the game of soccer, including soccer skills, fundamentals and playing on a team. This will be a one day per week commitment as teams will practice for a half-hour and then play their games immediately after they practice. There will not be goal keepers and all players will play at least half the game.

• When registering, specify your child’s elementary school for team formation.

• Players will receive a jersey for the season.

• Shin guards are required.

Ages 7–8

This developmental league focuses on skill building and team play, and will include weekly practices and games on Saturdays.

Spring Girls’ Softball Leagues

Ages 5–6

Teams will consist of 10–12 players. All teams will practice for a half-hour and play their game immediately afterward on Friday evenings.

• Players will receive a uniform top.

• The league will use a tee similar to a traditional tee-ball.

• All players must bring their own glove and wear athletic shoes.

Girls Softball 8U-14 U Ages 7–14

This league is played with Geneva and Sugar Grove Park Districts and will require some travel for games. For the 10U, 12U and 14U teams, the season will conclude with a single game elimination playoff. Please provide a jersey and pant size as well as which school your child attends at registration.

• Registration deadline is July 13.

• Age cut-off is based on participant’s age as of Sept. 1, 2026.

• After the deadline, you will be waitlisted and only placed on a team if numbers allow.

• Players will receive a full uniform; top, pants, visor and socks.

• Each player is required to have their own helmet. Helmets can be purchased for an additional $23.

• Players may wear any kind of athletic shoe.

• Practices start the week of Aug. 3, weather permitting. Days, times, and location will be determined by your coach and field availability.

• Games begin the last week in August. Games are not scheduled over Labor Day weekend.

Karate classes offer a good mix of strength training, with cardiovascular and flexibility exercises. Skateboarding: Learn to Skate

Ages 6-17

Learn how to ride up and down ramps, how to flow through a skatepark and the basics of an ollie and dropping in. Participants will learn skatepark etiquette, how to take care of equipment, how to progress safely, and much more. All experience levels are welcome to join the fun.

What you need for skateboarding classes and camps

• Bring a functioning skateboard to camp.

• Boards should roll smoothly and turn properly.

• Participants should wear pants, high socks and enclosed or skate shoes.

• Helmets are required for all riders.

• Full pads (knee and elbow pads plus wrist guards) are highly recommended.

• Helmets, safety gear and skateboards can be provided upon request.

• Bring a refillable water bottle and snack every day.

• Please inform instructors of allergies or medical issues on the first day.

A note about boards and protective gear

Not all boards are created equal. Boards purchased at a skate or sporting goods shop are of better quality than those purchased at big box discount chains or Amazon. New skaters may be hindered by lower-quality equipment, which is not a reflection of their skills and may hurt their confidence.

Kids who wear full pads while learning progress at faster rates and have lower rates of injury, helping them have a more enjoyable experience with skateboarding.

Jr. Parent Tot Sports

Ages 2-3

This program is a great opportunity for a parent and child to bond and have fun together while learning a variety of sports. Participants will improve simple motor skills such as catching, throwing, batting, shooting, passing, running and hand-eye coordination. Sports played may include soccer, basketball, hockey, T-ball and football.

This class is for the all-around athlete who wants to try different sports. We will focus on a new sport each class, including baseball, football, floor hockey, soccer and basketball. Learn the basic rules and mechanics while playing games that keep everyone moving. There’s no reason to pick a sport when you can play them all.

Learn soccer the All Star way with drills hidden in fun games and association techniques that get down to the players' level. Soccer is an actionpacked game. We will cover simple foot skills, dribbling, passing, shooting, basic rules, and work on spreading the field.

Throwing, fielding, base-running and batting will be the focus of this introductory league. Every player will get the opportunity to play each position as the teams are kept small. Each player will receive a team hat, jersey and trophy.

Ages 5-7

Children will be introduced to the proper basic mechanics, know-how and course etiquette at an early age. This class will include basic swing practice, understanding the clubs, safety rules and playing a small-sided course. If you have your own clubs, please bring them.

Jr T-Ball

Ages 3-4

Mechanics and hand-eye coordination are the keys to early success in T-ball. Players will be more confident in this active class. We’ll work on the proper mechanics of catching, throwing, fielding, base running and batting. Players will be moving and learning even when in the dugout.

Get ready to explore on a guided hike to the only cave in the Chicago area. Along the trail, your guide will point out interesting sights, talk about signs of the season and share fun facts about the natural surroundings. You’ll learn what makes this cave so special before taking home a small piece of geologic history as a souvenir. Children must attend with a registered adult. Be sure to dress for the weather—this hike takes place rain or shine.

Head out to Red Oak for a special sunset filled with fresh air and family fun. The evening may include a short hike, a thrilling local legend, or a lively game before everyone gathers around the campfire to roast marshmallow treats. All participants must be registered, and children must attend with a registered adult.

Lightening Bug Glow Ages 3+ w/adult

Celebrate the magic of summer at this annual firefly party. Doors open at 6 p.m., with pizza served at 6:30 p.m. After dinner, head outdoors for a self-guided bug hunt and hands-on activities as we wait for sunset. As the sky grows dark, watch fireflies flicker and glow in one of summer’s most enchanting displays. Each child with a youth ticket will receive a bug net and a special surprise to take home. All guests must have a ticket, and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Rusty Rodeo Ages 3+ w/adult

Take part in the eighth annual Rusty Rodeo conservation event at North Aurora Island Park and help protect the Fox River. Families are invited to lend a hand in capturing the invasive Rusty crayfish, a species that threatens local waterways. Prizes will be awarded to winners in several categories, adding a little friendly competition to the day. Participants should bring their own nets and collection buckets, and staff will provide instructions and guidance. This free, family-friendly event is offered in partnership with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, St. Charles Park District, Friends of the Fox and IllinoisIndiana Sea Grant.

Students use fruit purees and frozen fruit to flavor and color cupcakes and frosting. They decorate cupcakes with pastry bags and piping tools. Natural food dyes are used for coloring frosting. Each student takes home three cupcakes.

Learn the proper ways to groom, tack and handle horses. In the saddle, learn the basics of riding at the walk and trot. The first day of class is orientation and groundwork. Riders should wear jeans or Jodhpur pants and hard-soled riding or hiking boots with a small, low heel. Bring an approved riding helmet or bicycle helmet. The Great Soda Pop Spectacular!

Ages 7-13

Kids will sip, mix and experiment in this fun soda taste-testing, design their own wacky brand of soda and mascot in the fizz lab, experiment with carbonation at the candy creation soda station, learn the history of this nostalgic beverage during a pop-up lesson and leave with a fizzing souvenir surprise. Learning the science of bubbles and tastetesting with others is the perfect refreshing treat for curious kids who love unique summer opportunities and like to socialize with new friends.

Fizz, Pop, Boom Summer STEM Lab

Kids will experiment in this fun summer-themed lab: faux fireworks and anti-gravity, a dancing corn on the cob, an ambulance investigation experiment to find out why paramedics are busy during the summer and the science behind carnival concession stands using Pop Rocks and Skittles. They will also learn what makes a water balloon burst and do an experiment on how quickly a sunburn can occur. It’s a great self-esteem builder for kids.

The Thrills and Chills of Ice Cream

Kids will make a batch of homemade ice cream without a freezer, explore the science of amusement park treats and learn about the first ice cream novelty on a stick in this signature class that explores chemical and industrial engineering concepts along with the history of ice cream. Kids should dress to get messy because the class also includes an ice cream eating contest. They learn chemistry, physics and get a self-esteem lesson. A themed souvenir is included.

These fast and fabulous cards will wow your recipients but will only take a short time to create. We make four cards in an hour. Do you find you don’t send out Christmas cards because you’re just too busy in December? It’s not too early to start thinking about Christmas cards. Create 10 Christmas cards (2 each of 5 different designs). They will include a variety of quick and easy cards. An accurate drawing is the foundation of any good pencil art piece. Each artist will develop a trained eye to see line and space, and how the strength of lights and darks can construct form. Basic pencil stroke techniques and the use of a grid will be introduced and practiced, while simultaneously working on a black and white project of the student’s choice.

Adult Learn To Knit Ages 18+

This is a great beginner class for those who has never picked up a set of knitting needles or for those looking to get back into an old hobby. Learn how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off and read a knitting pattern. By the end of class, you will have completed your very first project, a beautiful scarf. Note: Supplies NOT included. Students will need to purchase a set of size 8 needles and one skein of medium yarn, color of your choice.

Learn to Crochet Ages 18+

Learn the basics like holding the hook and yarn and how to start with single crochet stitch to make a washcloth. We will add more basic stitches and a new way to start a project to make a hat. Learn how to read a pattern and to make a more advanced scarf. Learn to crochet in the round by making either a granny square or a stuffed bear. Fee includes a small crochet kit.

American Heart association CPR/BLS is considered the gold standard for CPR certification. After successful completion of the course, participants will receive an American Heart Association e-card, which is valid for two years. Participants must be physically capable of performing chest compressions to pass.

The Batavia Depot Museum, a cooperative effort between the Batavia Park District and the Batavia Historical Society, houses the rich history of the city’s past. The museum is in a restored Chicago, Burlington and Quincy railroad station, built in 1854 and recognized in 1979 for its uniqueness by the National Register of Historic Places. There are two floors of exhibits on local history to explore, as well as a 1907 caboose.

The Gustafson Research Center, in the lower level of the Depot Museum, houses our archives. Researchers have access to Kane County Census records, Tri-City directories, cemetery records, obituary indexes, local church records, probate and court records, historical books, photograph files and local business catalogs.

The Museum Annex at the Callahan Community Center houses the artifacts not currently displayed at the museum and the workspace where museum staff prepare future programs and exhibits. Stop by the Museum Annex lobby or take part in upcoming programs to learn about all that goes into preserving local history for future generations.

Look no further than Hall Quarry Beach. Hall Quarry Beach occupies a former stone quarry now owned by the Batavia Park District. It has been used as a swimming facility since 1920. It features a sandbottom swimming area covering 60,000 square feet, which includes islands, slides, and a diving area.

QUARRY RENTAL

Private rentals are available for birthday parties, family reunions, company picnics, and more. You will have exclusive use of the park from 6:30–8 p.m. on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, including the water features, sand volleyball courts and open grassy areas. The in-district fee is $500 for up to 50 guests.

DECK RENTALS

Deck rentals are available for $125 for three hours. You and your guests must pay the Quarry entry fee if not season passholders.

Batavia Park District Memorial Program Volunteer

Celebrate and commemorate a loved one’s life or express sympathy or condolences for the loss of a friend or family member with a memorial tree or bench offered by Batavia Park District.

Memorial Trees | Memorial trees leave a lasting legacy, which will grow stronger and blossom year after year. Trees are planted twice a year (spring and fall). The cost for a Memorial Tree is $800, and includes the tree, stone marker, and installation. Please visit bataviaparks. org for a full list of available trees.

Memorial Benches | Memorial benches add beauty to a park and provide a useful amenity for patrons to enjoy as they relax in their surroundings. The cost for a 4-foot bench is $2,550, and a 6-foot bench is $3,000, which includes the bench, plaque, and installation.

Pet Memorial Program | The Batavia Park District recognizes that many people consider their pets to be part of their family. Commemorate the life of your beloved pet by purchasing a brick or agility equipment through the District’s Pet Memorial Program. The cost for a pet brick is $200.

The Park District may periodically take photos and videos of individuals participating in programs, events, or using facilities. By registering or attending, you grant permission for the District to use these images for promotional purposes in publications, advertising, social media, and on the District’s website, without additional notice or compensation. All photos and videos will be the property of the District.

Good Time Guarantee

At Batavia Park District, we’re dedicated to providing high-quality recreation programs because our residents deserve the best.

We’re so confident you’ll enjoy your experience that we offer a Good Time Guarantee — if you’re not satisfied, we’ll give you a full refund.

Our Promise:

If you’re unhappy with the quality of instruction, your child’s ability to adjust, or the class skill level, request a refund before the third class and receive your full payment back.

Guidelines:

• Participant must attend the first two classes.

• Applies only to recreation programs (six or more classes taught by Park District staff).

• Does not apply to Quarry passes, special events, trips, New Horizons Preschool, camps, Kids’ Club, Klub Fun, or Youth/Adult Leagues.

• Submit a completed Good Time Guarantee form to the Recreation office before the third class. Forms are available in person only.

GENERAL INFORMATION Policies

NSF Checks

Checks returned for non-sufficient funds will be assessed a $20 service fee.

Program Refund Policy

Refunds will be considered for the following reasons:

• Class cancellations/Park District closings will result in a refund that will be applied to the household account as a credit towards future registrations. Upon request, refunds can also be paid by check or issued directly to a credit card if the request is made within 45 days of the original purchase. If you wish to apply this refund to another class, you must notify the Park District immediately.

• Refund requests received 5 business days before the first class will be accepted, less a service charge. If application is received less than 5 business days prior to start of program and it causes enrollment to fall below minimum and the spot cannot be filled; no refund will be given

• Refund requests received after the second meeting of the program will not receive a refund with the exception of a written medical excuse prior to completion of the program. A $5 service charge and program supply costs will be deducted from the amount of refund for each program, including medical reasons. Medical excuses will result in a pro-rated refund based upon the number of classes held prior to the date listed on the physician’s excuse. If program falls below the minimum required and the spot cannot be filled, no refund will be given.

• Applications for refunds for one-day programs (with the exception of Klub Fun) must be submitted 5 business days prior to class starting in order to receive a refund. Refunds will not be accepted after the class has ended.

• All refunds will be issued in the form of how payment was originally made when a refund application is approved before the class starts. Refunds to a credit card can only be issued within 45 days of the original purchase.

• All refunds applied for are subject to a $5 service charge. Instances where fees are $10 or less, the service charge will be based on 10%.

• Kids’ Club, Klub Fun, New Horizons and Camp SUN-Sational participants are subject to different terms of refund and withdrawal policy. See parents’ manuals or description for more information.

• Refunds will be applied to any outstanding balance owed on any programs or activities.

Inclement Weather Policy

For program and event updates or cancellations, please visit bataviaparks.org/rainout. The umpires or instructors decide the status of play after program starts. They will base their decisions on the field conditions and the likelihood of rain or thunder.

Out-of-District Fee Policy

Batavia Park District residents make a significant contribution to the operation of the Park District via property taxes. The Park District boundaries were established with the formation of the Park District in 1969. A map showing the boundaries is included in the brochure and available at the Park District Administrative Offices. Persons living outside the boundaries may be required to pay an additional fee to register for programs.

Electronic Signature Readers

Electronic signature readers eliminate the need for you to complete a paper form every time you register. The electronic reader captures your signature and confirms that you’ve agreed to the liability waiver and release of all claims.

Signatures will stay on file for 12 months, and after that time you will simply stop in or complete an online registration to sign the waiver again. If you are a regular phone-in customer, we will need to capture your signature in person in order for you to do subsequent registrations by phone. Online registration is not affected.

Program Cancellations

All programming, events and trips are subject to cancellation up until the time of the program, event or trip if patron and staff safety is a concern. Programs not meeting the minimum registration will be canceled, and refunds will be issued in the form of a check.

Cancellation decisions will be made one week in advance of the beginning of the program in most cases. All participants in canceled classes will be notified by Park District staff and will receive a full refund.

Class Transfers

If you wish to transfer to a different class, please contact Customer Relations to complete a Transfer Form during business hours. The form is also available at bataviaparks.org: Programs & Events > Registration Information > Forms.

Waiting List

Many of our classes have Registration limits due to facility space and staff limitations, therefore we cannot always guarantee you will be enrolled in the class of your choice. The Park District maintains waiting lists for classes that have reached their maximum Registration and encourages everyone to be placed on a waiting list. We will open additional classes whenever possible.

Instructors and leaders are not allowed to accept any registrations and are not allowed to give authorization for more people to register than the listed maximum. Your cooperation is appreciated. Registration deadlines have been set for each class. Please register prior to Registration deadline. We try to establish class status at least one week prior to starting dates. Please register at least one week prior to class unless designated otherwise.

The Batavia Park District intends to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act by making reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities. Scholarship Program

The Batavia Park District Board of Commissioners and staff believe in providing program scholarship opportunities to residents with financial limitations. Park District residents are invited to complete the Scholarship Application, attach the required documents, and return to the Civic Center office at 327 W. Code of Conduct

The Batavia Park District is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for participants in recreation programs. Participants are expected to adhere to fair and safe conduct guidelines. These guidelines apply to the safety of participants, the general public, employees and volunteers of the Batavia Park District.

A safe environment is where participants, staff, volunteers and the general public are free from physical harm. It is anticipated that some participants may require assistance to participate in the recreation program. This assistance may include accommodations, which will assist participants with unusual behaviors in order to maintain a safe environment for all.

The following actions are prohibited at Batavia Park District facilities and parks:

• Hitting, kicking or throwing objects.

• Inappropriate sexual touching.

• Creating a risk of contagion or illness, whether intentional or not.

• Bringing a weapon to a program or activity or acting in a manner which exposes the participant or others to danger.

• Extreme verbal abuse.

• Fighting.

• Any other unacceptable behavior including inappropriate dress.

• Any violation of these guidelines may result in: removal of the participant from the activity for a short period of time; removing the participant from the activity for the remainder of the day; suspending the participant for the next program meeting; and suspending the participant for the remainder of the program season.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Inclusion Services for Individuals with Disabilities

Batavia Park District works collaboratively with the Fox Valley Special Recreation Association (FVSRA) to provide reasonable modifications for individuals with disabilities who need assistance to participate successfully in programs.

We strive to foster independence and active participation in the least restrictive environment. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), modifications can vary from program to program and are determined following an intake assessment conducted by a team member from FVSRA.

Modifications can include one or more of the following:

• Activity modification

• Adaptive equipment

• Additional staff support

• Sign Language interpreters

• Staff training

• Support plans for behavior, diabetes, or seizure disorders

Requesting Inclusion Services

Inclusion services can be requested at the time of registration in person or by phone. If registering online, click the “Contact Us” option in the top menu bar or call the park district at 630-879-5235 to place your request.

Timeline for Services

For new participants, FVSRA aims to complete an intake assessment within one week of receiving your request for inclusion services. Once an individual has a completed intake on file, the average time to determine and coordinate modifications is two weeks. To provide the best customer service, we ask for at least two weeks’ notice before the start of the program to arrange modifications.
