The goal of the Tri-Cities Soccer Association is to teach the basic skills involved in and the actual game of soccer in a positive atmosphere of good sportsmanship and allow the participants to have fun and learn teamwork while doing so. Competition is a natural part of any sport, but it is not the primary object of Tri-Cities Soccer. The Association is meant to be a low-key, low-pressure recreational soccer organization.

Dear Residents:
Summer in Batavia invites us outside to reconnect with neighbors and with the places that make our community so special. Our parks become gathering places where families play, music fills the air along the Riverwalk and new memories are made.
One of the places that captures the spirit of Batavia is the Depot Pond, the treasured centerpiece of our Riverwalk. For generations, it has been a backdrop for wedding photos, quiet reflection and community celebration. This year, the Park District continues important work to improve water quality and remove invasive plant species. Looking ahead, we are also exploring long-term improvements such as enhanced water circulation and the addition of a central fountain to keep the pond vibrant and thriving. Because Depot Pond belongs to all of us, we will soon invite residents to share their thoughts through a community survey that will help guide future decisions.
We are also excited to begin planning the revitalization of Fox Trail Park, a neighborhood park where families gather for play and peaceful walks along the nearby trail. The project will include a new playground, updated surfacing and drainage, refreshed landscaping and accessibility improvements to create a welcoming space for visitors of all abilities. Residents will be invited to participate in a public input meeting to help shape the park’s future design.

Treasurer
Summer also means it’s time to make a splash. Hall Quarry Beach opens for the season on May 23, featuring two new children’s water slides that will add even more excitement for our youngest swimmers. One of the most unique swimming experiences in the region, the Quarry continues to be a place where generations of Batavia families have created lasting memories.
For our youngest residents, Camp Sun-Sational and our specialty camps provide a safe and engaging environment filled with adventure, creativity and new friendships. From the arts and robotics to nature exploration and outdoor play, summer camp is where lifelong memories begin.
Parks are where community comes to life. Thank you for being part of that story.
Your fun fuels our future!

All the best,

Allison Niemela, CPRP Executive Director

The Batavia Depot Museum, a cooperative effort between the Batavia Park District and the Batavia Historical Society, houses the rich history of the city’s past. The museum is in a restored Chicago, Burlington and Quincy railroad station, built in 1854 and recognized in 1979 for its uniqueness by the National Register of Historic Places. There are two floors of exhibits on local history to explore, as well as a 1907 caboose.
The Gustafson Research Center, in the lower level of the Depot Museum, houses our archives. Researchers have access to Kane County Census records, Tri-City directories, cemetery records, obituary indexes, local church records, probate and court records, historical books, photograph files and local business catalogs.

The Park District may periodically take photos and videos of individuals participating in programs, events, or using facilities. At Batavia Park District, we’re dedicated to providing high-quality recreation programs because our residents deserve the best.
We’re so confident you’ll enjoy your experience that we offer a Good Time Guarantee — if you’re not satisfied, we’ll give you a full refund.
Our Promise:
If you’re unhappy with the quality of instruction, your child’s ability to adjust, or the class skill level, request a refund before the third class and receive your full payment back.
Guidelines:
• Participant must attend the first two classes.
• Applies only to recreation programs (six or more classes taught by Park District staff).
• Does not apply to Quarry passes, special events, trips, New Horizons Preschool, camps, Kids’ Club, Klub Fun, or Youth/Adult Leagues.
• Submit a completed Good Time Guarantee form to the Recreation office before the third class. Forms are available in person only.
Checks returned for non-sufficient funds will be assessed a $20 service fee.
Refunds will be considered for the following reasons:
• Class cancellations/Park District closings will result in a refund that will be applied to the household account as a credit towards future registrations. Upon request, refunds can also be paid by check or issued directly to a credit card if the request is made within 45 days of the original purchase. If you wish to apply this refund to another class, you must notify the Park District immediately.
• Refund requests received 5 business days before the first class will be accepted, less a service charge. If application is received less than 5 business days prior to start of program and it causes enrollment to fall below minimum and the spot cannot be filled; no refund will be given
• Refund requests received after the second meeting of the program will not receive a refund with the exception of a written medical excuse prior to completion of the program. A $5 service charge and program supply costs will be deducted from the amount of refund for each program, including medical reasons. Medical excuses will result in a pro-rated refund based upon the number of classes held prior to the date listed on the physician’s excuse. If program falls below the minimum required and the spot cannot be filled, no refund will be given.
• Applications for refunds for one-day programs (with the exception of Klub Fun) must be submitted 5 business days prior to class starting in order to receive a refund. Refunds will not be accepted after the class has ended.
• All refunds will be issued in the form of how payment was originally made when a refund application is approved before the class starts. Refunds to a credit card can only be issued within 45 days of the original purchase.
• All refunds applied for are subject to a $5 service charge. Instances where fees are $10 or less, the service charge will be based on 10%.
• Kids’ Club, Klub Fun, New Horizons and Camp SUN-Sational participants are subject to different terms of refund and withdrawal policy. See parents’ manuals or description for more information.
• Refunds will be applied to any outstanding balance owed on any programs or activities.
For program and event updates or cancellations, please visit bataviaparks.org/rainout. The umpires or instructors decide the status of play after program starts. They will base their decisions on the field conditions and the likelihood of rain or thunder.
Batavia Park District residents make a significant contribution to the operation of the Park District via property taxes. The Park District boundaries were established with the formation of the Park District in 1969. A map showing the boundaries is included in the brochure and available at the Park District Administrative Offices. Persons living outside the boundaries may be required to pay an additional fee to register for programs.
Electronic signature readers eliminate the need for you to complete a paper form every time you register. The electronic reader captures your signature and confirms that you’ve agreed to the liability waiver and release of all claims.
Signatures will stay on file for 12 months, and after that time you will simply stop in or complete an online registration to sign the waiver again. If you are a regular phone-in customer, we will need to capture your signature in person in order for you to do subsequent registrations by phone. Online registration is not affected.
All programming, events and trips are subject to cancellation up until the time of the program, event or trip if patron and staff safety is a concern. Programs not meeting the minimum registration will be canceled, and refunds will be issued in the form of a check.
Cancellation decisions will be made one week in advance of the beginning of the program in most cases. All participants in canceled classes will be notified by Park District staff and will receive a full refund.
If you wish to transfer to a different class, please contact Customer Relations to complete a Transfer Form during business hours. The form is also available at bataviaparks.org: Programs & Events > Registration Information > Forms.
Many of our classes have Registration limits due to facility space and staff limitations, therefore we cannot always guarantee you will be enrolled in the class of your choice. The Park District maintains waiting lists for classes that have reached their maximum Registration and encourages everyone to be placed on a waiting list. We will open additional classes whenever possible.
Instructors and leaders are not allowed to accept any registrations and are not allowed to give authorization for more people to register than the listed maximum. Your cooperation is appreciated. Registration deadlines have been set for each class. Please register prior to Registration deadline. We try to establish class status at least one week prior to starting dates. Please register at least one week prior to class unless designated otherwise.
The Batavia Park District intends to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act by making reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities. If you or someone you know will require an accommodation for District service, or have any questions about the District’s compliance, please contact Batavia Park District’s ADA Compliance and Inclusion officer Brittany Meyer at 327 W. The Batavia Park District staff makes every effort to prepare our Fun Guides as accurately as possible. Due to the large amount of information available in the seasonal guides, errors after publication may occur. We will attempt to keep information on our website as current as possible. We apologize for any errors and thank you for your patience and understanding when these situations arise.
The Batavia Park District is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for participants in recreation programs. Participants are expected to adhere to fair and safe conduct guidelines. These guidelines apply to the safety of participants, the general public, employees and volunteers of the Batavia Park District.
A safe environment is where participants, staff, volunteers and the general public are free from physical harm. It is anticipated that some participants may require assistance to participate in the recreation program. This assistance may include accommodations, which will assist participants with unusual behaviors in order to maintain a safe environment for all.
The following actions are prohibited at Batavia Park District facilities and parks:
• Hitting, kicking or throwing objects.
• Inappropriate sexual touching.
• Creating a risk of contagion or illness, whether intentional or not.
• Bringing a weapon to a program or activity or acting in a manner which exposes the participant or others to danger.
• Extreme verbal abuse.
• Fighting.
• Any other unacceptable behavior including inappropriate dress.
• Any violation of these guidelines may result in: removal of the participant from the activity for a short period of time; removing the participant from the activity for the remainder of the day; suspending the participant for the next program meeting; and suspending the participant for the remainder of the program season.
Batavia Park District works collaboratively with the Fox Valley Special Recreation Association (FVSRA) to provide reasonable modifications for individuals with disabilities who need assistance to participate successfully in programs.
We strive to foster independence and active participation in the least restrictive environment. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), modifications can vary from program to program and are determined following an intake assessment conducted by a team member from FVSRA.
Modifications can include one or more of the following:
• Activity modification
• Adaptive equipment
• Additional staff support
• Sign Language interpreters
• Staff training
• Support plans for behavior, diabetes, or seizure disorders
Inclusion services can be requested at the time of registration in person or by phone. If registering online, click the “Contact Us” option in the top menu bar or call the park district at 630-879-5235 to place your request.
For new participants, FVSRA aims to complete an intake assessment within one week of receiving your request for inclusion services. Once an individual has a completed intake on file, the average time to determine and coordinate modifications is two weeks. To provide the best customer service, we ask for at least two weeks’ notice before the start of the program to arrange modifications.
