THE NINJA TAKE The industry is hungry, but bartenders still don't show up for each other. This week's Take comes from Peter Lebese, who has spent enough nights out in the community to notice a pattern worth calling out.
"I would like to see the community come out more and actually celebrate each other. I see the industry is hungry now but as individuals not as a community." Peter's point is easy to test. Count how many bartenders turn up to support a colleague's menu launch, a friend's competition run, or a stranger's first night behind a new bar. Ambition isn't the problem here. Everyone in this industry is chasing the same growth, the same recognition, the same next step. What's missing is how rarely that hunger turns into people genuinely standing behind one another. A scene becomes a community when

showing up for someone else's win starts to feel as natural as chasing your own. FILE 02 · MISSION
NINJA CHALLENGE MISSION
Citrus Challenge: Make a balanced cocktail without using any citrus juice. Inspiration: Build the cocktail inspired by a randomly selected song, movie, or destination. Best one gets featured in Issue №002. Post it: Share your cocktail on Instagram, tag @barninjasint and use #barninjachallenge. Whether you go the Citrus route or the Inspiration route, we want to see the build, the glass and the story behind it, not just the finished shot.
