The following classes meet in the Central Baptist Hospital Education Center, located on the lower level of Building E: Great Expectations, Marvelous Multiples, Comfort Measures, New Brother/New Sister, The Art of Breastfeeding, and Little Fingers Little Toes
Great Expectations
How will I know if I am really in labor? When do I go to the hospital? What can my support person do to help me during labor? Answers to these questions, as well as general information about visitation, options for delivery and policies and procedures at Central Baptist Hospital, will be discussed. A short video of our facilities will let you “tour” our labor and delivery rooms, nurseries and post-partum/mother-baby area. Mom and partner are encouraged to attend. The class is free. Marvelous Multiples
A class for parents expecting multiples!
Expecting more than one baby can be both exciting and daunting. Plan to come to this very informative class that will help you think ahead as you prepare for this challenging event. Maternal issues, “must-haves” for the nursery as well as what to expect when you deliver at Central Baptist Hospital, will be discussed. “Real-life” parents of multiples will be available to share their stories, helpful hints, and support! Comfort Measures for Childbirth
All parents-to-be will find this one-time class helpful in preparing for labor and birth. This class should be taken during the eighth month of your pregnancy. Methods of relaxation, breathing, comfort and support measures will be presented. Please bring two pillows and a blanket and wear comfortable clothing! Class is free, but space is limited. New Brother/New Sister Sundays
This hands-on and informative class will help prepare children for their mom’s hospital stay and the arrival of their new sibling. We offer two age-appropriate classes. Registration required. Class dates may be found on centralbap.com

The Art of Breastfeeding
Learn the how-to’s of breastfeeding with a board-certified CBH lactation consultant. Getting started, tips for success, preventing and treating breastfeeding problems, as well as how to successfully combine work and breastfeeding, will be covered. Little Fingers, Little Toes An infant care class for new parents!
This class is offered to new parents and adoptive parents. Help to prevent unnecessary anxiety by practicing important skills ahead of time! Learn safe methods of holding, comforting, diapering and bathing your newborn. Other topics include a discussion of infant cues, signs and symptoms of illness, and adjusting to life with your new addition! A pediatrician and a pediatric dentist will be available during the last part of the class to discuss newborn characteristics and to answer your questions. Laboring the Natural Way
This series of 3 classes is designed for those who would like to prepare for the option of a non-medicated birth. The class prepares you through the practice of relaxation, breathing techniques, position changes and partner supported comfort measures. Information on nutrition, discomforts of pregnancy, exercise, breastfeeding and CBH policies and procedures as well as information about what to expect after you deliver will also be covered. If you take this class, you do not need to attend the Comfort Measures class. We encourage you to take this series during your fifth or sixth month of pregnancy to allow time for practicing the techniques you learn. Active participation of your partner is strongly encouraged! First Spoonfuls
How to raise a healthy eater.
Come and learn about transitioning your child to solid foods. You’ll learn tips on how and when to start transitioning, appropriate serving sizes and proper food consistencies. In addition to this baby nutrition class, we will actually cook several baby foods as samples for you to take home! Class is free, but space is limited. Happy Baby Yoga

Pediatric CPR Class
This very important class will help you feel secure in dealing with emergencies you may encounter with your newborn. Choking, airway obstruction and home/environmental safety issues will be covered. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for children from birth through 8 years will be taught. $25/person, $40/2 persons and $15 per additional caregiver. Registration and payment can be made online. Prenatal Yoga
Practicing yoga can be an excellent way to stay fit and relaxed during your pregnancy. This class incorporates gentle, safe movements to help strengthen your body, relaxation and breathing techniques to release tension and increase your focus and balance.
