Bounce Back from Cancer™ is a full-court press to defeat those statistics …and YOU can help! Funds raised through Bounce Back from Cancer™ will help Miami Cancer Institute conduct breakthrough research and clinical trials in its ongoing fight against this devastating disease.

Cancer will continue to be a life-threatening diseases for millions unless there’s a grassroots movement to defeat it. Bounce Back from Cancer™ is one small step that you can take to raise critical funds in the search for a cure.
It’s FUN and a great way to bond with your team!
Bounce Back from Cancer™ is the ultimate team-building event. It’s the perfect way to get to know your work buddies outside the office, share some laughs and support each other. You’ll spend a memorable afternoon dribbling your way through the streets of Miami. Don’t be surprised if strangers honk or stop to cheer you on – the excitement is contagious! You’ll want to sign up for next year before you’re even done!
It’s an opportunity for some friendly competition
Who’s raising the most funds? Who’s got the best dribbling moves? Who’s got the most team spirit? If you’re competitive by nature, this is the event for you. And if you’re not, you’ll have a great time watching your teammates go toe-to-toe!
It promotes health and fitness
Whether you choose to dribble or walk the 14.2 or 2 mile course, you’ll be outdoors getting fresh air and some healthy activity. Plus, you’ll rack up some serious numbers on your daily step tracker. You don’t have to be an athlete to participate – even young kids can do it.
You’ll get some cool swag
Everyone who participates in the event will receive a swag bag with a commemorative Bounce Back from Cancer™ basketball, Dry-FIT t-shirt and more. It’s a great way to show your team pride and remember a fun-filled day with your friends, family and co-workers,.

HOW YOU CAN Bounce Back from Cancer™ CHOOSE A GAME PLAN OPTION Join or start a team. Registration opens on October 1 and is anticipated to sell out. The sooner you register, the better! 14.2 Mile Course – Limited to the first 500 Registrants $75 Registration Fee $500 Fundraising Minimum
2 Mile Course – Limited to the first 1,500 Registrants $55 Registration Fee $150 Fundraising Minimum
Student Registration (Must be 18 and under) 2 Mile Course $55 Registration Fee Fundraising Waived
Benchwarmer If you can’t make it out to the event, then register as a fundraiser! No fundraising minimum.
PLEASE NOTE: Fundraising is open until March 31, 2024. If you do not reach the minimum fundraising requirement, you will be charged the difference to your credit card on file.

Tips for Recruiting Your Team

Select a Team Captain – this is your team’s head cheerleader! Reach out to everyone friends, family and coworkers. Explain the importance of the Bounce Back from Cancer™ mission and the benefits of participating.
Inspire everyone to get involved - by participating in the event, becoming a fundraising “benchwarmer” or just making an individual donation.
Tips for Successful Fundraising
FOR COMPANIES •
Share your company’s participation via email and on social media – it’s excellent PR, and you’ll generate corporate donations.
•
Encourage employee sharing via email, social media and text messaging, with personal messages and links to donate.
•
Create team incentives for support, such as matching donations for a limited time, providing a pizza party for the group that raises the most funds, etc.
•
Offer a prize to the person on your team who raises the most funds from individual donors or pledges.
FOR TEAM MEMBERS •
Share it - Share your participation via email, social media and text messaging, and make it personal. Nearly everyone has been touched by cancer in some way. Tell your story.
•
Email all of your contacts, not just a few. You’ll be surprised at the response you get!
•
The rule of seven - The average person wants to give but needs to see the request seven times to offer that pledge. Make sure they get an email, see your Facebook post and a text.
•
People are busy – don’t be afraid to reach out again if you haven’t heard back. make a mental note for a specific date in the future and check in with them again
•
Write to all your neighbors on your block or in your apartment building or complex.
•
Change your voice mail message to include your participation in Bounce Back from Cancer™ and invite people to support you.
•
Matching gifts – Check with each donor to see if their company will match their donation and double their dollars.
•
Tribute pledges – Ask your friends and family to make a pledge in honor or memory of someone. You can even write your honoree’s names on the shirt you wear at the event.
•
Thank your donors with a personal thank you note and email.
