Welcome to the 2021 100th Quairading Ag Show Schedule! The occasion of the 100th Quairading Agricultural Society Show is a testament to the dedication shown by the very many volunteers who have contributed to the Society since the first committee meeting held in 1913. Many of those volunteers have been members and volunteers for years, some for up to forty plus years. On behalf of the Quairading community, to them and to the current hard working committee, I extend a sincere and heart-felt thank you. The current committee has worked hard to provide the best available entertainment, sideshows and catering and to also facilitate the usual Exhbition Hall competitions and displays for photography, sewing, cooking, art, craft, produce, floral and vegetable displays. Local school students will again be displaying their work in the Exhibition Hall. The sheep, wool and chooks will be back plus a display of past sashes, trophies and memorabilia. A real focus this year has been on collecting and documenting some of the history of the Agricultural Society, and of the town and locals. This collection, plus a take-home booklet will be available to be viewed on show day. The members and volunteers of the Agricultural Society rightfully think the 100th show is an extraordinary achievement for our Society and our town. To celebrate this achievement, I implore all members of our community, including the students of the Quairading District High School, to take every opportunity to enter into the displays and competitions at the show and be part of the history created by participating in the 100th Quairading Agricultural Society Show. RULES AND REGULATIONS 



  

Exhibitors must confirm to and be bound by the Regulations and By-Laws as printed in the Schedule for the 1938 Agricultural Show, and all entries received are subject to such regulations. Agricultural Society Act 1926 - 1968. In the event of a tie or multiple tie after a countback in any one Section, the judge will be asked to select the best of the tying entries. To win a trophy, an exhibitor must gain at least 5 points and exhibit in more than one class. Exhibitors are requested to co-operate with Stewardesses in the performance of their duties. The Committee will take every care of exhibits but will not be responsible for any loss by accident, fire or other means, either in transit in the building or during exhibitions. Late entries will only be accepted at the discretion of the steward. Entry times are advertised on each section, please abide by them. Judges will not be kept waiting for entries to arrive. 6

DUTIES OF STEWARDS Stewards in all sections: 1. Be at Showgrounds early on Judging Day. Stewards and Exhibitors check with their respective Sections for times of duty and judging time. 2. Attend at the time and place as notified by the Chief Steward of their Section. 3. Attend the reception, classifications and placing of all exhibits and any other matters having reference thereto. 4. Wait upon the Judges and afford them all information and attention necessary in the discharge of their duties. 5. Sign the award book conjointly with the Judge. 6. If they think it necessary, advise the Committee to reject any exhibit, in which case prompt action will be taken. 7. Responsible for counting of sections for awards, advising the Treasurer and Exhibition Hall Coordinator on judging day of the results of all awards.

OVERALL TROPHIES PATRON’S TROPHY: Awarded to exhibitor who receives the most points in Show. FAMILY TROPHY: Awarded to a family of two or more gaining most points over any section (family must exhibit in at least two sections and must live under the same roof). PRESIDENT’S TROPHY: Awarded to exhibitor gaining most points in the exhibition hall. 7

SECTION C: SHEEP This section is sponsored by Coopers Animal Products and Quairading Agri Services.     

Exhibitors are requested to have sheep penned one hour prior to judging. Exhibitors are requested to leave stock on exhibition until 3:00pm. Sheep to be penned by 12:00pm Saturday 9th October. Sheep will be penned in breeding groups to preserve Brucellosis status of breeders. Judging Time: Between 12pm and 1pm Saturday 9th October.

Identification and waybill requirements:  All owners of sheep must have a valid PIC for where their stock are kept.  All sheep must be tagged with an NLIS tag that reflects the year of birth and that bears the brand (or PIC) of the breeder [in right ear of females or in left ear of males].  All sheep must be earmarked in left ear of females or in right ear of males  Any sheep that are not living on property of birth/owned by breeder, must be tagged with an additional NLIS tag that is pink and bears the brand (or PIC) of the current owner [in the left ear of females (female earmark ear) or in right ear of males (male earmark ear)]  All sheep leaving the property must travel with a complete waybill.  It is acceptable to use the one waybill that reads “destination to Quairading Showground and return” so that only one waybill is needed.  Provide the original waybill to the event manager / livestock steward.

Any standard size print 6”x 4” entered in classes 1 to 13 may not be entered in classes 14 to 24. Photographs to be judged on: Impact, Composition, Technique, Clarity and Colour. Limit of 2 photos per class. All standard size photos must be mounted on card of any colour with a 2cm border (approx.). Enlargements can be mounted on stiff card. No framed photos will be accepted. Please ensure all photos are securely mounted. DO NOT USE PHOTO CORNERS. Photos are to have Velcro dots attached to the back of the mounting card. 6” x 4” photos should have one Velcro dot on the left and one on the right.
