COACH HARBAUGH SAYS ON BUILDUP TO THE SEASON & EXCITEMENT TO SEE HIS TEAM PERFORM:

“This is what you look forward to. You do all of that work in the offseason, the preseason, and even during the season, for the games. As challenging as they are, as much tension as there is, you’re excited to go compete. That’s what we’re looking forward to.”

INJURY UPDATE

Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL Kickoff Game (Sept. 5, 8:20 p.m. ET). By starting with KC, the Ravens are facing a reigning Super Bowl champion in Week 1 for the first time in franchise history. The matchup – featuring QB Lamar Jackson (2019 & 2023) and QB Patrick Mahomes (2018 & 2022) – marks the first time in NFL history that multiple-time league MVPs will square off in Week 1.

Veteran CB Arthur Maulet (knee) was injured in an early August practice and was placed on IR/Designated for Return as part of the 90-man roster reduction to 53 players. Standout second-year RB Keaton Mitchell (knee) begins the season on Reserve/PUP, as he continues to rehab a 2023 Week 15 injury.

✗ In his 17th season at the Baltimore helm, John Harbaugh stands

as the NFL’s second-longest-tenured head coach (Mike Tomlin – 18). The Ravens have produced a 12-4 mark in Week 1 games under Harbaugh, winning seven of their past eight openers.

NOTE THE QUOTE NFL NETWORK ANALYST DAVID CARR ON THE 2024 RAVENS:

”The Ravens will be fascinating, so long as Lamar Jackson is under center. The two-time MVP never fails to entertain viewers with remarkable playmaking ability through the air or on the ground, and he's now joined in the backfield by Derrick Henry, one of the best running backs of this era. Not to mention, Baltimore brings back the majority of its defense, which ranked first in points allowed in 2023. This is a team ready to make another push for a Lombardi."

✗ In 2023, the AFC North Champion Ravens produced the NFL's

best regular season record (13-4) and earned a No. 1 playoff seed. After beating the Houston Texans, 34-10, in the Divisional Round, the Ravens fell, 17-10, at home in the AFC Championship to the eventual Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs.

✗ The 2023 Ravens tallied an NFL-record 10 victories vs. teams that finished with a winning record, and they posted six wins vs. playoff teams. Baltimore also ranked No. 1 in the NFL in both point differential (+203) and turnover margin (+12, tied w/ NYG).

CHART CHATTER

✗ In 2023, the Ravens became the first team in league history to

finish a season ranking No. 1 in each points allowed (16.5 ppg), sacks (60) and takeaways (31, tied w/ NYG).

✗ Led by QB Lamar Jackson, who was voted the 2023 AP NFL

MVP for the second time (also 2019) in his career, Baltimore ranked No. 4 in scoring (28.4 ppg) and No. 6 in total yards (370.4), averaging a NFL-high 156.5 rushing yards per game.
