COACH HARBAUGH SAYS ON THE IMPORTANCE OF DIVISIONAL GAMES & FACING 7-2 PITTSBURGH:
“Every game is super important. When you play in your division, they kind of become twice as important, because if you give your division rival a loss, it separates you, really, by 1.5 games, at least. That’s just something that we really have to understand, but we always do. That’s why we say division games are so important. Pittsburgh is 7-2, so that becomes part of the equation, for sure. But in the end, that’s not what matters; what matters is how we play."
(7-2)
QUICK HITS ✗ The Baltimore Ravens (7-3), who have won seven of their past
eight games, visit Acrisure Stadium to battle the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-2), who sit atop the AFC North standings after winning four consecutive contests. ✗ In his 17th season, John Harbaugh stands as the NFL’s secondlongest-tenured coach (Mike Tomlin – 18). Harbaugh has led Baltimore to 11 playoff berths, winning Super Bowl XLVII in 2012 and producing a 179-112 overall record (including playoffs). ✗ For the eighth time (2010-12, 2019 & 2021-24) under Coach Harbaugh, Baltimore is 7-3 (or better) through the first 10 games of a season. In six of these seven previous seasons, the Ravens have gone on to earn a playoff berth. ✗ The NFL's No. 1 offense (440.2 ypg) is led by two-time MVP QB Lamar Jackson, who's been outstanding both passing (2,669 yards, 24 TDs & 2 INTs for an NFL-best 123.2 rating) and rushing (538 yards & 2 TDs). ✗ Baltimore's No. 1-ranked ground attack (182.6 ypg) is fueled by RB Derrick Henry, who leads the league in rushing yards (1,120) and total TDs (14 – 12 rushing & 2 receiving). ✗ In Week 10's Thursday night win (35-34) vs. Cincinnati, the Ravens posted 389 yards (290 passing & 99 rushing), including 287 in the second half. Facing a 21-7 third-quarter deficit, Baltimore's offense exploded in the fourth quarter, when Jackson completed 11-of-13 passes for 197 yards and 3 TDs (WR Tylan Wallace, TE Mark Andrews & WR Rashod Bateman) for a perfect 158.3 rating. (Jackson finished the game 25-of-33 for 290 yards and 4 TDs.) The Bengals scored a late TD to pull within 1 point of tying the game with :38 remaining, but their 2-point conversion attempt was stopped by S Ar'Darius Washington to seal Baltimore's win.
INJURY UPDATE CB Jalyn Armour-Davis (knee) and DE Brent Urban (concussion) have missed the past two games, while TE Isaiah Likely (hamstring) didn't play in Thursday's win vs. Cincinnati. S Kyle Hamilton (ankle) left the Bengals game and didn't return.
NOTE THE QUOTE ESPN'S BEN SOLAK ON LAMAR JACKSON AS A GAME-CHANGER:
"It’s not about stats, though [Lamar] Jackson is posting some preposterous numbers. It’s about gravity. We know what it is when a star player walks onto a field, court or pitch. They create new circumstances for their offenses, environments that can be neither replicated with similar players nor reproduced in the aggregate. They force defenses, who have drilled techniques, strategies and schemes for months, to play a slightly different version of the sport they’ve prepared to play – just different enough to break the math, destroy the scheme and negate the technique. Jackson has gravity.”
