WASHINGTON COMMANDERS VS. BALTIMORE RAVENS (0-2)
PRESEASON GAME 3 – AUG. 27, 2022 7 P.M. ET – M&T BANK STADIUM (70,045)
C OAC H H A R B S S AY S ON THE RAVENS’ 22-GAME PRESEASON WINNING STREAK: “It’s not the thing that we’re thinking about the most [consecutive wins], by any stretch. Guys are out there just trying to play ball. They’re trying to compete, like they do. They compete at everything. They want to find a way to win. That’s what you love about [them]. What I think this so-called streak shows you is that over a lot of years, a lot of guys have found a way to come through at the end and win games. That’s what you’re proud of. Those guys look back on that in their careers, those guys who played in those games. Some of those guys had long NFL careers, some didn’t. It means something to them.”

7 The Baltimore Ravens close out preseason play when they host the Washington Commanders in a “Beltway Battle” at M&T Bank Stadium (Saturday, 7 p.m. kickoff). Baltimore is coming off a 24-17 road victory at Arizona, which was the Ravens’ 22nd-consecutive preseason win dating back to 2016, extending their all-time NFL record (see chart on page 2). Baltimore aims to go undeafeated in the preseason for the sixth-straight season.
I N J U RY U P DAT E Three Ravens are on the Physically Unable to Perform list: OLB Tyus Bowser (Achilles), RB Gus Edwards (Reserve PUP, knee) and T Ronnie Stanley (ankle). Rookie fourth-rounder TE Charlie Kolar (sports hernia) underwent surgery and has not participated in full-team training camp practices, while fellow rookie and second-rounder OLB David Ojabo continues to rehab an Achilles injury sustained during his March Pro Day. Standouts RB J.K. Dobbins (knee) and CB Marcus Peters (knee), who both missed the entire 2021 season, recently came off PUP and have done limited work in practice.
7 In 2021, after starting the season with an AFC-best 8-3 record, the Ravens dropped their last six games – five of which came by a combined 8 points. With a final 8-9 record, Baltimore missed the playoffs for the first time in four seasons and for just the fifth time during head coach John Harbaugh’s 14-year tenure.
7 Ravaged by injuries throughout 2021 – including season-ending injuries to standouts RB J.K. Dobbins, RB Gus Edwards and CB Marcus Peters – Baltimore battled through consistent adversity and remained in playoff contention entering the Week 18 game vs. Pittsburgh. The Ravens played an NFL-high nine games that were decided by 3 or fewer points in 2021, including that final 16-13 overtime defeat against the Steelers.
NOTE THE QUOTE NFL.COM’S BUCKY BROOKS ON JOHN HARBAUGH & THE RAVENS: ”There is a saying around the game that ‘winners win,’ and the Ravens’ preseason streak might be one of the reasons why they have remained a title contender under [John] Harbaugh’s watch.”
7 In 2021, Baltimore’s offense ranked No. 6 in total yards (378.8 ypg) and registered the league’s No. 3 rushing attack (145.8 ypg). The Ravens produced the NFL’s No. 1 run defense (84.5 ypg) and ranked No. 3 on third down (34.8%).
7 QB Lamar Jackson missed five games last season, including the final four contests due to an ankle injury. Still earning Pro Bowl honors, Jackson was 246-of-382 passing for 2,882 yards, 16 TDs and 13 INTs, adding a team-high 767 rushing yards. All-Pro TE Mark Andrews was sensational, producing single-season team records for receptions (107) and receiving yards (1,361 – which also rank third most by a TE in NFL single-season history).
