WORLD CHAMPIONS: SUPER BOWL XXXV (2000) & SUPER BOWL XLVII (2012)
BALTIMORE RAVENS AT JACKSONVILE JAGUARS (7-3)
WEEK 12 – SUNDAY, NOV. 27, 2022 1 P.M. ET – TIAA BANK FIELD (67,164)
C OAC H H A R B S S AY S COACH HARBAUGH ON THE RAVENS' DEFENSIVE PROGRESSION: “I feel good about the steady progress. I feel like we had a vision; the players understood the vision. It’s built around the talent that we have, and we haven’t really changed course. We’ve stayed on course, and we’ve just tried to improve. The guys have done that. It’s starting to show up in a real good way the last month or so, and we have to keep getting better. We have a long way to go.”
(3-7)
QUICK HITS
✗ Riding a four-game winning streak, the Baltimore Ravens (7-3) travel to battle the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-7) at TIAA Bank Field (1 p.m. kickoff). Baltimore is 4-1 on the road this season, winning at the NY Jets, New England, Tampa Bay and New Orleans. Jacksonville is 2-3 at home and is coming off its Week 11 bye.
I N J U RY U P DAT E RB Gus Edwards (hamstring/knee) has missed the past two games. All-Pro LT Ronnie Stanley (ankle) and S Kyle Hamilton (knee) left the Panthers game and did not return. Starting S Marcus Williams (wrist) has missed the last five games after being placed on Injured Reserve, but will return this season, as should RB J.K. Dobbins (knee), who was placed on IR on Oct. 21. Starters WR Rashod Bateman (foot) and NT Michael Pierce (biceps) are on season-ending IR.
✗ The Ravens are 7-3 for the fifth time in franchise history (also 2004, 2010, 2011 & 2021). They sit atop the AFC North standings, while the 6-4 Bengals are one game behind in second (Baltimore also holds the head-to-head tiebreaker, winning 19-17 in Week 5). ✗ The Ravens are 10-12 in regular season play against Jacksonville, including 3-7 as the road team. Under head coach John Harbaugh, Baltimore is 4-3 vs. the Jaguars, posting a 1-2 mark on the road (one of those games was in London in 2017, when the Ravens fell, 44-7). Baltimore last played in Jacksonville in 2016, winning 19-17.
NOTE THE QUOTE THE BALTIMORE SUN'S CHILDS WALKER ON LB PATRICK QUEEN: "Queen was always capable of flashy plays as a blitzer, and he raised his season sack total to four [last Sunday]. But the linebacker we saw against Carolina was an out-and-out run obliterator, filling gaps and finishing with bone-rattling hits. According to Pro Football Focus, he made seven of his game-high 12 tackles against the run, and they came an average of one yard past the line of scrimmage."
✗ This Sunday, Baltimore aims to win its fifth-straight game. The Ravens last won five consecutive games from Weeks 2-6 of the 2021 campaign. Prior to that, Baltimore posted a five-game winning streak to close out the 2020 regular season. ✗ Behind a dominant defense in last Sunday's 13-3 win vs. Carolina, Baltimore’s "D" permitted season lows in points (3), total yards (205), yards-per-play average (3.8) and rushing yards (36), while recording 3 takeaways (2 INTs & 1 FR) and 4 sacks. ILB Patrick Queen recorded a team-high 12 tackles (9 solo), including 1 TFL and a half-sack, while CB Marlon Humphrey posted his first-career game with a FR and INT. OLB Justin Houston registered a half-sack and now has 7 sacks over his past four games, producing 9 total this season. Humphrey's FR led to a QB Lamar Jackson 1-yard rushing score, which marked the game's only TD with 7:16 remaining in the fourth quarter.
