It is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Recreation and Parks’ Fall 2026 season program guide. Baltimore County is proud to offer recreation, nature, and arts programming for all ages. Everyone should explore the special place we’re proud to call home.

Fall Events

I hope you’ll join us at fun, family-friendly events across the county. Those include the Fall Festival at Marshy Point Nature Center, Dam Jam Festival at Lake Roland Park, and Benjamin Banneker’s Birthday Market Fair at the Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum. I also encourage you to explore the extensive arts and cultural programming available across the county. You can see how art meets nature at Holt Park for the Arts, where the ArtFusion festival is held. Of course, it wouldn’t be fall in Baltimore County without hayrides, pumpkin patches, campfires, cider-making demonstrations, and Halloween programs for the entire family to enjoy. I can’t wait!

Message from the Acting Director Welcome to the Fall 2026 Baltimore County Recreation and Parks Program Guide. As the leaves change across Baltimore County, this guide is packed with ways to get outside, stay active, and make memories with family and friends. Across Baltimore County, our team is advancing projects that enhance facilities, including improving amenities at Cromwell Valley Park, breaking ground at Northwest Regional Park, and opening the reimagined Gwynn Oak Park. We’ve replaced nearly 100 playgrounds in recent years, and overhauled basketball courts across the county. Thank you to our dedicated recreation and parks staff for making these activities possible and for supporting recreation council–led sports across the county. Therapeutic Recreation and Accommodations The Department of Recreation and Parks is committed to providing all individuals access to facilities and programs. Programs designed for people with disabilities are listed in the Therapeutic Recreation section of this guide. The Department’s inclusion program supports the individuals with challenges participating in general recreation programs. Supports can include an Inclusion Assistant companion, sign language interpretation, large print, Braille, adaptive equipment, accessible transportation, and notification to instructors and program directors of a participants accommodation needs. Halloween Treats! Holt Haunted Hike Walk the park’s paved trail to see what creatures come out after dark. The park includes about eight miles of trails, including three self-guided nature trails, a self-guided paddle trail on Dundee Creek and a paved accessible trail.
