Inside, we've got two gorgeous photo features that offer differing perspectives on color this season. First, we partnered with Shannon Pallin of Fiore of Pensacola who put together a series of stunning white floral arrangements and bouquets, and we photographed them inside the historic and breathtaking Temple Beth-El. If you've never been inside the space, it’s worth a visit for the history and stunning stained glass windows alone.

On that note, I encourage you to read our COVID-19 Resource Guide, which provides resources for food, business, community and more. The ever-changing nature of this crisis necessitates that I mention that these resources may or may not be available to you by the time you read this issue. I hope it will provide a place to start, some ideas or some inspiration either way.

If you’re interested in conservation, check out Dakota Parks story on local Panhandle Rooftop Nesting Biologist, Rebekah Snyder. Through her work with Audubon Florida, Snyder helps to ensure local shorebirds have safe nesting spaces in an increasingly overpopulated region.

On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, our styled shoot is set at the Pier Suite on Pensacola Beach, and it is a full celebration of bold, vivid color. Local wedding vendors came together to create something joyful and vibrant, and the results are spectacular.

You may also notice that we have some nonpandemic related stories in this issue. We made the call to include already planned articles that might still be helpful, relevant or enjoyable for our readers. We hope you find them useful.

While many people made glorious headway on home improvement and personal projects in 2020, I did not. I did not organize anything. I did not fix anything. I did not learn a language or a new skill. Nothing. But that’s ok, too. I’m still here. That’s an accomplishment. However, in 2021, I’d like to lighten my load and empty my house of much of the clutter and unnecessary junk that fills it. It’s time to make room for something new.

All of this, plus a few DIY pet treat recipes and some good news from the Florida legislature regarding protection for pets in abusive situations.

Beyond the beautiful imagery, this issue is loaded with practical inspiration. Dawn Gresko breaks down the hottest wedding invitation trends for 2026, and Morgan Cole takes a deep dive into this year's bridal fashion to bring you the styles trends worth knowing about. Contributing writer Jenny Diamond also talks to local caterers about what couples are serving at weddings this year.

In this issue, we’ve covered all of these topics and more to help readers shift their own focus in 2021. We hope you enjoy. Here’s to your health!

COVER CONTEST WINNER

Sarah & Marcus Jordan

Photography: Aislinn Kate Photography

When and how did you meet?

We met after a series of small world coincidences. After graduating from pharmacy school, I moved back to Pensacola in 2020 for my residency. I moved in with my best friend of more than a decade, Shelby, and her coworker, Teresa. Marcus had gone to middle school with Shelby when their parents were stationed in England, and Teresa had gone to high school and Florida State University with him. Marcus had remained friends with both girls and promptly reached out to them about their new roommate. After that, it took about two and half years, a few Bumble messages, three failed attempts at a first date, meeting my parents on Interstate 10 and a wedding in Pennsylvania to seal the deal!

Tell us about your engagement.

Marcus is a pilot in the United States Air Force and had always joked about taking me up flying with him one day. On November 10, 2024, that's exactly what he did. He rented a plane and flew us out to Panama City for a fun little lunch date. Meanwhile, friends and family were preparing Marcus' parent's house in Niceville for the proposal. With a beautiful view of the Boggy Bayou, flower petals were on the ground next to the shore where Marcus got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Everything that happened next was a blur, but the sweetest surprise was our dog, Bindi, running down to the water from the house to greet us. Immediately after, friends and family came down from the house and celebrated with us the rest of the evening.

Where did you get married, and what was the theme of your wedding— colors, style and any special details?

We got married at Supposey Warehouse & Gardens in January. We wanted to keep the details simple and classic. We had tossed around the idea of doing a jewel-toned

theme, but ultimately decided we preferred the simplicity of the white, blues and golds. We also knew that having our two dogs, Bindi and Ozzy, as a major part of our day was a must even if they couldn't physically be there for the events. Throughout our reception, people could find our dogs on the dance floor, the cake or even at the bar!

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

Our favorite part of the wedding was reading our vows during the ceremony. Marcus' only strong opinion regarding wedding planning was that we write our own vows and read them at the ceremony. Despite the nerves leading up to the big moment, it's something I'm so grateful he pushed us to do.

Which local vendors did you work with?

Hair and Makeup: Kendra K Beauty

Catering: Culinary Productions

Florals: Chrissy Florals

Wedding Coordinator: Southern Frills

Music: Marvelous Strings and DJ Dr0ne

Bar: First Class Bar

Marquee Lights: Lightly Letters

Cake: Craft Bakery

What advice would you give to newly engaged couples to help make their wedding day truly special?

Marcus and I did a private dance after the reception ended while everyone went outside to get ready for the send-off. Having this moment to decompress after all the events and remind ourselves what the evening was truly about is a moment we'll never forget. You don't get a lot of private moments together unless you schedule them. Give yourselves a private moment together (or a few!) to really appreciate the day and the love it's about.

RUNNERS UP

Korina & Brock Hill

Photographer: Phocus & Company

When and how did you meet?

Brock and I met in September 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio. He started working at the company that I was working at, but we didn’t officially start interacting and dating until January of 2020. We saw each other every day but didn’t have much interaction until someone hosted a watch party for The Bachelorette. We talked all night, and it was an instant spark. Tell us about your engagement. We got engaged in December of 2023. I was in Pensacola visiting my family for Christmas, and he surprised me by flying down and meeting us where we were going for dinner. He proposed at The Gulf restaurant in Gulf Shores, which was the first place I took him here when we first started dating. We loved being engaged and wanted to take our time planning the perfect wedding. We weren’t sure where we wanted to have the wedding, but we both love Pensacola, so we ended up making the decision to do it here.

Where did you get married, and what was the theme of your wedding—colors, style and any special details?

We got married at 5eleven Palafox, and it was a semi-traditional wedding. My color scheme was light green with hints of pale pink. We went all out on flowers and candles but did an informal dinner with all kinds of different food stations ranging from Creole and Southern to Italian and even chicken tenders and fries! We didn’t want a formal seated dinner. Instead, we wanted one big party where guests could grab food whenever they liked. It was very laid back and felt very fitting for us.

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

Our first look before the ceremony was my favorite part. It took the nerves away, and it was special getting to see him and hug him and know this was finally happening!

Jenna Routman & Zach Stello

Photographer: Rae Leytham

When and how did you meet?

Zach and I were both working at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. However, we did not meet until we matched on Hinge, the dating app.

Tell us about your engagement. We were engaged for about one year. Zach proposed during the holiday season in December 2024. He left a gift under the tree that was about the size of a ring box. When I acknowledged the present, he said, "Go ahead and open it". I was freaking out because I thought it was going to be an engagement ring and it was a note that said, "Join me for dinner tomorrow night." He made reservations at our favorite Italian restaurant and proposed in the parking lot before we went to dinner (he knew I didn't want a bunch of people watching).

Where did you get married, and what was the theme of your wedding—colors, style and any special details?

We got married at Supposey Warehouse and Gardens. Even though it was a December wedding, I still wanted bright colors as I have always been drawn to them. I wanted a modern and whimsical garden vibe. I chose Supposey for the outdoor garden, which I fell in love with the second I saw it.

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

Celebrating after the reception with all our friends and family. We had a band from New Orleans that we loved and really had the crowd dancing the whole time. We also loved signing the Ketubah before the ceremony. It made everything feel official and real before walking down the aisle.

Which local vendors did you work with?

DJ: A DJ Connection

What advice would you give to newly engaged couples to help make their wedding day truly special?

Enjoy being engaged, and make wedding planning fun. My husband was really involved in the whole process because I’m bad at making decisions, but it made the planning so much more meaningful and exciting. For your wedding, think about what you want to do and how you want it to be. Don’t get overwhelmed with seeing what everybody else is doing. Make it special to you two because at the end of the day, it’s a party for you to celebrate your love, and if you make it about you, you will love every minute of it!

Which local vendors did you work with?

Hair and Makeup: Irrelephant X Mae Bridal from Birmingham, AL

Catering: Culinary Productions

Florals: Sunshine Designs

Planner: Melinda Orona

Cake: Sukar Bakes

Rentals: Sexton Event Rentals and Whim Cotton Candy

What advice would you give to newly engaged couples to help make their wedding day truly special?

It is one of the only times in your lives where both everyone you and your husband love will be in the same room celebrating. Take every moment in, try not to stress about the small details and have the times of your lives.

YA Lovely Invitation

Inspiring Fine Art Wedding Stationery

ou’re newly engaged and it’s time to start sharing the exciting news and inviting loved ones to save the date. In a world where text messages and social media often deliver news and invitations, sending a tactile, custom wedding invitation offers a more personal touch—one that is both eye-catching and memorable while reflecting your unique story and leaving a lasting impression. Beautifully crafted wedding invitations that line up perfectly with your vision not only delight guests but also set the perfect tone for your wedding day. The typical ensemble consists of a full six-piece invitation suite including the invitation, details and RSVP cards plus envelope as well as outer envelope and envelope liner. Below, we highlight the many ways invitation ensembles can be personalized, from choices of calligraphy and colors to paper choices, printing techniques and thoughtful add-ons, so each piece aligns with your overall wedding aesthetic.

Calligraphy

A handwritten note or card is almost a thing of the past, but in those moments where one is received, it sends a special message to the recipient that the composition was a thoughtful process. Calligraphy, or the art of beautiful writing, elevates a wedding invitation by using intentional hand-lettered designs often created with traditional tools like dip pens, inks and sometimes brushes. Calligraphy choices range from traditional lettering with elaborate flourishes in formal scripts like Copperplate or Spencerian to more modern, contemporary scripts that appear flowing and casual. Calligraphy can customize an entire suite from addressing for outer envelopes, carefully designed to complement the custom calligraphy and artwork of the suite, with printed return addressing for a refined finish. Calligraphy created for your wedding invitation, with lettering styles and typographic details developed exclusively for your wedding theme, ensure your suite cannot be replicated.

“For wedding stationery, most of my clients choose my more classical calligraphy styles, particularly Copperplate and Spencerian,” Calligrapher, Wedding Stationer and Owner of The Spaniel Studio, María Muñoz said. “Although some couples are drawn to some of my more modern calligraphy styles, handwritten calligraphy, especially today, carries the magic of something truly unique, with strokes that are perfectly imperfect and hardly replicated.”

Paper Type & Printing Techniques

Don’t underestimate the value and weight of your invitation’s paper choice: paper type determines what printing techniques you can use as well as what style you want to portray. Paper types can range from heavy-weight cotton stock with clean, straight edges to luxurious double-thick cotton stock and artisanal handmade paper with romantic deckle edges.

Choosing the paper for a wedding invitation also determines what printing techniques can be used, as embossing requires thick but soft cotton paper while letterpress translates just as well to handmade paper options. Printing techniques that enhance the tactile and visual experience include foil, letterpress, embossing and sculpted embossing. Embossing is a premium, specialized printing technique that uses engraved metal dies and pressure to create a raised, three-dimensional effect. Sculpted embossing features floral frames (think peonies, roses, camellias and other delicate blooms) to add depth, texture and an unmistakable sense of artistry. Foil is a specialty printing technique that applies a thin, decorative and shiny metallic layer onto paper using heat, pressure and sometimes specialized adhesives. Letterpress printing is where inked, raised surfaces are pressed into thick paper, creating a deep, tactile and luxurious impression.

“I prioritize high-quality papers and materials that are responsibly sourced and meant to last,” Muñoz said. “Wedding stationery is something couples often keep for years as a memory of their day, so creating pieces that feel timeless and enduring is very important to me. I also work with small specialized vendors and artisans who share the same appreciation for craftsmanship, quality materials and thoughtful production.”

Colors

Color palettes play a key role in bringing the vision of your wedding day to life. Wedding invitations that follow your color palette help set for the tone of your special day: communicating the season, theme and overall vibe of the celebration to guests. Effective palettes generally feature three to four cohesive colors, combining a dominant shade with supporting tones and accents. Using invitation design to set the mood for your wedding means incorporating your palette through elements like colored envelopes, belly bands, ribbons or pocket folds. You can also include a small, colored swatch card, also called a details card, into the invitation suite. Embrace the color palette of your wedding in details cards, envelopes and custom calligraphy, which can also subtly imply guests wear specific colors to fit with your theme.

“Every wedding stationery project begins with understanding the aesthetic of the wedding and the couple’s vision,” Muñoz said. “Only after that does the design process begin, which includes creating a color palette and carefully studying textures, papers, printing methods and finishes that reflect the unique character of each wedding.”

Personalized Add-Ons

Although add-ons like vintage postage, ribbons and custom wax seals might seem like the last thing to consider when designing an invitation ensemble, these elements actually enhance the first impression of the invitation and wedding, as they are often the first thing invitees will see on the invitation suite.

Ribbons offer a luxurious and soft finishing touch, while also serving as a practical band to hold invitation enclosures together, with the color reinforcing the overall wedding palette or theme. Vintage stamps can also reflect the wedding theme, location or the couple’s personality with choices like botanical stamps for a garden wedding or travel stamps for a destination wedding, setting a curated tone before the envelope is even opened and marking the invitation as a keepsake–perfect for wedding day flat-lay photography. Custom wax seals balance aesthetic appeal with practicality, holding the invitation securely shut while adding a high-end feel with the ability to use initials, monograms, custom wedding crests or botanical motifs. Vellum jackets on invitations provide an elegant, translucent and customizable overlay that wraps around the invitation suite with common examples being botanical or floral patterns as a modern yet romantic way to bundle cards.

“Designing wedding stationery means constantly searching for beauty, uniqueness and something truly special in every project,” Muñoz said. “One of the most rewarding moments is seeing my clients’ excitement when they receive their invitations and send them to their loved ones.”

IN BLOOM

The White Edit

White has remained the timeless foundation of bridal floral design for generations. White, cream and ivory florals are highly versatile. They hold their own against any color palette and never compete with the dress. Shannon Pallin, florist and owner of Fiore of Pensacola, loves building on this classic floral theme to design the unexpected, transforming sometimes understated blooms into sophisticated bridal bouquets. We asked Fiore to highlight the many ways that white florals are being used in 2026 wedding celebrations.

2. Fragrant white hyacinth bundled into a petite bouquet, with individual blooms strung and layered into delicate garlands that wind through the stems.

3. Freshly cut spiraea branches, just beginning to leaf out, bring the feeling of early spring into a simple cylindrical vase. White tulips add a crisp pop against the green.

4. Mini white callas, with their stems looped and tied with a single strand of pearls, represent timeless elegance.

Florals were photographed at Temple Beth-El, Florida's oldest Jewish congregation. Founded in 1876 and housed in its Art Deco Palafox Street building since the early 1930s, Beth-El is one of Pensacola's most storied landmarks.

Curated Cuisine

A Menu That Tells Your Story

Planning a wedding is an exciting and sometimes overwhelming experience, with choice after choice designed to curate a couple’s perfect day. From the venue and the attire to the wedding party and the ceremony, each decision helps to reflect a couple’s aesthetic, tastes and even their values.

One of the biggest decisions for any couple is deciding what food to serve at their wedding. The food at a wedding is about more than simply feeding guests: food choices allow couples to honor their heritage, reflect their story and curate their guests’ experiences. Recent trends in wedding catering—from appetizers and main courses to drinks and desserts—show that couples are prioritizing options that allow for personalization, accommodating guests’ dietary needs and restrictions and highlighting local ingredients and flavors.

Only a few years out of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown, wedding trends in 2026 still reflect some pandemic considerations. The pandemic changed the way that people planned weddings, moving from large guest lists and indoor venues to smaller, outdoor settings in order to keep everyone as safe as possible. Subsequently, the way food was served at weddings had to change as well. Even post-pandemic, people are often still choosing to hold smaller weddings with shorter guest lists offer more options for guests’ individual preferences and considerations. Gone are the days of simply choosing chicken or fish.

Abi Mitchell, Event Coordinator at Nancy’s Catering & Events notes that trends lately have shifted toward more informal, buffet or family-style settings that allow guests more choice; additionally, while some weddings still offer individual appetizers or hors d’oeuvres, she is seeing more couples request snacking platters and charcuterie boards to keep guests satisfied early in the reception.

Kady Tubbs, Events Manager for Great Southern Restaurant Group, the management company for the Fish House, Five Sisters Blues Café, Jackson’s Steakhouse, and Angelena’s Ristorante Italiano, also touts the importance of offering something light toward the beginning of the reception. “Even if there will be a sit-down meal at some point, we usually suggest some cocktail or snacking options while people are arriving at the reception and before everyone gets seated and settled,” Tubbs said.

Catering requests not only concern how the food is served but also where it is sourced. Mary Dee Moralita is the chef and owner of O.G. Lola’s Plant Based Kitchen, known for its distinct Filipino-Southern fusion offerings.

“People are more conscious of others’ dietary needs and more conscious about the ingredients,” Moralita said. “Even at weddings, we’re seeing a trend toward more whole foods, less synthetic ingredients. People are definitely more interested in local ingredients. Local food tastes better, it’s fresher. I source a lot of the fruits and vegetables that go into my catering from Bailey’s and From the Ground Up Community Garden.”

Mitchell echoes this sentiment, especially regarding the fresh Gulf seafood available in our area. “People want to make sure that any seafood options at their wedding are fresh and locally caught,” she said. “It’s a big appeal for a lot of couples that we’re able to offer that. One of the most popular things we serve at weddings is Chef Gus’ Snapper Skopelos with local snapper.”

Shanelle Long, owner of Indulgence Bakehouse who is known for her intricately decorated, themed cakes highlighted the strong sense of community among local food businesses, saying, “There is a LOT of local support between chefs, bakers, food trucks, etc. We’re all pretty close. There is a lot of camaraderie in our community. If I can source something from Bailey’s or The Farm, or purchase from a local store like the Apple Market, it’s a way to show love to other small businesses and boost visibility.”

In addition to sourcing locally as much as possible, most caterers, chefs and bakers are open to personalizing wedding offerings, whether that means offering plant-based, gluten free or dairy free options, or even incorporating a couple’s treasured family recipes. Mitchell recalls a wedding where the couple really wanted to

incorporate a family recipe for a Spanish dish, and they asked Chef Gus to recreate the recipe “We even had a second tasting just for that dish to make sure that it was perfect. The couple was really happy, and we were happy that we could fulfill that request,” Mitchell said.

Long recalls a similar experience when a couple asked her to take on a beloved grandmother’s Italian wedding cookie recipe. “Being able to incorporate a loved one’s recipe into a couple’s special day is a way to not only honor someone who has passed, but it also allows the couple to feel like that person is there, in a way,” Long said.

Trends affect more than just the snacks and meals at weddings. Recent years have seen big changes regarding one of the most important elements at any wedding: the cake.

“During the lockdown, people’s choices were limited, and they had to start considering other options,” Long said. “For instance, we had fewer requests for the traditional big, white wedding cake that served the entire reception. Instead, couples requested smaller versions of traditional cakes, maybe only two tiers so they still had something

Nancy’s Catering & Events

to cut into. We had a lot more requests for very small individual cakes or cupcakes that could be placed at each setting, resulting in a safer experience.”

Though safety concerns are less prominent now than they were a few years ago, the trends shaped by the pandemic remain. Long says that many couples are now opting for dessert bars that allow guests to choose from several options: cookie bars, pie bars, even brownie bars with ice cream and various toppings. Amelia Thomas, manager of Pensacola staple J’s Bakery, has seen similar requests that trend away from tradition. “Huge, multi-tiered wedding cakes are expensive," Thomas said. "People are looking for variability; they’re looking to meet different dietary needs. Individual choices are much more cost-effective and allow for more gluten or dairy free options.” Thomas notes that certain pastries from J’s, like petit fours, thumbprint cookies and their iconic smiley face cookies can even be customized with colored icing to match the wedding colors. Aside from dessert bars, many bakers and caterers are able to offer edible favors for guests to take home, like packaged cookies or small parfaits.

Tubbs of Great Southern notes a recent request that led to a new, customizable dessert idea. “A bride requested fresh cannoli, so we developed the idea of a cannoli presentation and are trying it out for the first time in an upcoming wedding,” she says. “Someone will be filling individual cannoli, dipping the ends, adding touches, and handing them out to guests. Dessert stations and presentations like this are trending in bigger cities, so when the request came in, we thought, let’s give it a go in Pensacola!”

Drink options are changing as well. Though most weddings will still offer various alcohol selections, variability in drink choices is on the rise. Spencer of Nancy’s Catering recalls a reception with a beverage station that allowed guests to customize their own version of a Shirley Temple, the bride’s favorite drink, with traditional grenadine but also other fruit and flavoring options. Mobile beverage services like Tap the Coast and The Thirsty Ranch offer a variety of alcoholic options

along with exciting NA options, including mocktails, specialty coffee and even kombucha. Craft sodas offer another option for couples to support small local businesses. One such soda company, Big Jerk Soda Co. offers customized labels for their sodas to showcase couples’ names and wedding dates.

Ultimately, all wedding food options allow couples to be creative, honor their history and those they love and give their guests a great experience. Chefs, caterers, bakers, cake designers, etc. welcome requests and seek to give their clients the best experience possible. “All couples are different, and a trend that isn’t changing is the need to make people happy,” Long said.

Classic Romance Meets Modern Design

Dramatic Sleeves

Planning a wedding involves countless important decisions, but few feel as meaningful as finding the perfect dress. With multiple silhouettes, fabrics and details to choose from, today’s brides are seeking gowns that both reflect current trends and showcase their personal style.

In 2026, bridal fashion is redefining tradition, blending historical regal charm with bold, modern details that let each bride shine in her own way. Rather than completely abandoning tradition, brides are reimagining the classics with fresh, fashion-forward updates. From airy lace overlays and layered tulle to sleek minimalist silhouettes and eye-catching statement sleeves, designers are giving texture, movement and subtle color a starring role.

Whether the setting is a grand ballroom, a beachfront ceremony or an intimate garden celebration, this year’s bridal fashion trends offer something for every bride who wants her wedding day look to feel unforgettable, stylish and uniquely her own. Here’s a look at some of the popular wedding dress styles making their way down the aisles in 2026.

Sculptural Minimalism

Minimalist bridal fashion is getting a modern update in 2026, turning the once-simple slip dress into something much more striking. Designers are embracing sculptural silhouettes that focus on structure, tailoring and thoughtful construction rather than heavy embellishments. Clean, straight lines create a polished, sophisticated silhouette that lets the gown’s craftsmanship take center stage. Luxurious fabrics like satin, crepe and Mikado silk are being used to help form these structured shapes while keeping a smooth, elegant finish.

Sleek column gowns are a standout trend this year, offering a long, flattering silhouette that naturally elongates the body. Many brides are elevating the look with modern details such as corsets, sculpted necklines, dramatic sleeves and open backs. These clever details add dimension without making the gown look busy. This style is perfect for brides who want a clean, elegant and fashion-forward gown.

Sleeves are stepping into the spotlight in bridal fashion for 2026, adding romantic flair, personality and just the right amount of drama to modern wedding gowns. From voluminous puff sleeves and delicate illusion lace to flowing bishop styles, statement sleeves are a standout feature in many of this year’s designs. These eye-catching details create a striking silhouette while adding movement and softness to the overall look.

Sheer fabrics, intricate lace patterns and softly gathered tulle keep sleeves feeling light and airy rather than heavy or restrictive. For brides looking for versatility, many designers are offering detachable sleeves that provide the best of both worlds. A bride can walk down the aisle in a romantic, covered silhouette and then remove the sleeves for a lighter, sleeveless look at the reception. This trend is perfect for brides who love a dreamy, romantic style and want a gown with a little extra flair and personality.

Voluminous Skirts & Princess Silhouettes

While sleek, streamlined gowns continue to hold their place in bridal fashion, dramatic volume is making a big return for 2026. Designers are once again embracing the romance of full skirts and classic ball gown silhouettes, creating looks that feel both timeless and refreshingly modern. Layers of airy tulle, soft organza and structured fabrics are used to build sweeping skirts that move beautifully and make a statement with every step down the aisle.

To balance the drama of these full skirts, many gowns feature fitted bodices that shape the waist and highlight the bride’s natural figure. Clean necklines, structured corsets and subtle details keep the look polished rather than overly ornate. The result is a modern take on the classic princess gown—elegant, romantic and eyecatching. For brides who want to make a memorable entrance, these statement silhouettes offer the perfect mix of fairytale charm and modern sophistication.

Dimensional Florals & Rich Texture

Texture is becoming one of the biggest bridal trends for 2026, bringing gowns to life with layers of detail and soft, romantic dimension. Instead of traditional flat lace, designers are choosing richly textured fabrics that add depth, movement and visual interest from every angle. Three-dimensional floral appliqués are especially popular, appearing like flowers blooming across bodices, skirts and even veils.

Delicate embroidered lace, pearl accents and layered fabrics add even more detail, giving gowns a luxurious, touchable feel. Some of this year’s trending designs feature cascading blossoms that trail down the skirt while others incorporate raised embroidery that catches the light with every step. Soft tulle overlays and sculpted lace patterns complete the look, making the gowns dreamy, elegant and artistic. This romantic, garden-inspired style is perfect for brides who want a gown full of texture, pretty details and soft, feminine charm.

Convertible & Dual-Style Dresses

Versatility is one of the biggest trends in bridal fashion for 2026, and convertible gowns are leading the way. Modern brides want a dress that can transform throughout the day, offering a dramatic look for the ceremony and a comfortable, stylish vibe for the reception. To make this possible, designers are adding removable details like overskirts, detachable trains, flowing capes and statement sleeves, allowing a bride to change her look without wearing a completely different gown.

A full overskirt can create a grand, formal style for walking down the aisle, then be removed to reveal a sleek, streamlined dress perfect for dancing and celebrating. Detachable sleeves or capes can turn a romantic, traditional gown into a modern, relaxed look in moments–especially helpful for ease of movement and to stay cool during the reception party. This trend is ideal for brides who want a gown that’s flexible, practical and effortlessly stylish.

Soft Color & Non-Traditional Shades

While classic ivory and crisp white will always be bridal staples, 2026 brides are embracing a softer, more expressive palette. Designers are introducing subtle color into wedding gowns, offering brides a fresh way to personalize their look while still maintaining a romantic bridal aesthetic. Gentle shades such as soft blush, champagne, pale blue and other pastel tones are appearing throughout new bridal collections, adding warmth and dimension without feeling overly bold.

Rather than solid color throughout, many brides are incorporating these subtle hues through layers of airy tulle, delicate embroidery or softly tinted lace that creates a whisper of color beneath traditional ivory overlays. Other gown designs feature watercolorinspired floral prints or subtle ombré effects that gradually fade across the skirt. These delicate tones bring depth and visual interest while preserving the elegance of the traditional bridal gown. Adding a pop of soft color is perfect for brides who want something more unique that still feels timeless and romantic.

Beyond the beach, our bride also incorporated white into one of the season's most elegant trends, a cascading bouquet anchored in dreamy white calla lilies. The sculptural blooms are a nod to Pantone Color of the Year, then evolve into a cascading trail of tropical flowers in vibrant hues. The sweetheart table set the tone for the entire event. Dressed in a floor-length olive fabric that pooled dramatically at the base, the table was framed by macramé chandeliers dripping with jewel-toned florals. Fuchsia menus popped against gold-rimmed charger plates and gold flatware. The cake is finished in a classic white buttercream with a textured ruffle design while bursts of tropical flowers and fresh citrus slices crown the top, seamlessly tying it into the overall color story.

Set on the deck with the Gulf stretching endlessly behind it, the chic bar setup created an effortlessly captivating atmosphere. A white portable bar draped in that same signature olive fabric was tucked beneath a sage-fringed umbrella, surrounded by overflowing floral arrangements and a colorful spread of tropical fruits. The signature drinks menu, displayed on a rattan sign, offered an Old Fashioned, a Paloma and the Stanley Spritz mocktail. The customized acrylic drink markers mimic the shape of a citrus slice, making for a lovely keepsake for guests.

Outside, a long banquet table draped in rippled olive velvet set the foundation for an arrangement of white cube vases overflowing with loose, garden-style blooms in fuchsia, orange, yellow and blush. Small wicker table lamps added an unexpected touch of warmth to the tropical tablescape while orange handwritten table numbers kept the whole vibe feeling personal. At sunset, the couple stepped out to the Mr. and Mrs. marquee letters against the fading Gulf sky, creating a perfect frame for a perfect day.

Before the big day even begins, the invitations set the tone. Laid out poolside against a backdrop of turquoise water and green grass, the invite ensemble featured asage green invitation with a hand-illustrated dove, a bold orange details card and a hot pink menu. For the ceremony, the couple stood on a circular orange platform right on the sand with the beach stretching out around. Back at the table, details like amber glass candlesticks, clusters of green grapes spilling from a martini glass overflowing charcuterie boards and a pair of orange heart-shaped sunglasses resting beside them bring a sense of playfulness to the big day.
