Dear ECMS Members and Community Friends, As President of the Escambia and Santa Rosa County Medical Society for 2026, I am honored to introduce this edition of our Printed Directory — a resource that has served our medical community and the residents of Northwest Florida for more than 150 years. For physicians, this Directory helps us connect with colleagues across specialties. For patients and community members, it provides a trusted resource to find qualified medical professionals throughout Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. The practice of medicine has never been more complex. Physicians today face mounting administrative burdens, evolving regulatory demands, and a healthcare landscape that is constantly shifting. That is exactly why organized medicine matters. ECMS exists to stand alongside our physicians — advocating for their ability to practice medicine on their own terms, protecting the physician-patient relationship, and ensuring that the voice of our local medical community is heard at every level of government. This Directory reflects the remarkable depth and breadth of medical expertise available right here in Northwest Florida — from family medicine to highly specialized surgical care and everything in between. E.C.M.S. Mission
The Escambia County Medical Society in conjunction with Santa Rosa County [E.C.M.S.] is a local professional association of medical doctors and doctors of osteopathy (M.D.’s & D.O.’s), that addresses political, social, and economic issues concerning the level and delivery of healthcare for patients and physicians. Started in 1873, the non-profit E.C.M.S. represents over 400 physicians living or working in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties of Northwest Florida. Mission: The mission of the Escambia County Medical Society is to advance physicians’ practice of medicine in our community. Vision: Tradition – Honoring the history of medical care in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Service – Serving the needs of our community through the service of our members in the practice of medicine. Leadership – Meeting the challenges of the future and safeguarding our community’s health through organized collaboration on the local, state, and national level. Functioning as the Champions of Healthcare by: • Nurturing all physicians to seek self-improvement, leadership abilities, and volunteer opportunities within our community and state; • Serving as advocates for patients by encouraging physicians to pursue high standards in medical care, education, and ethics; • Promoting access to quality healthcare for all citizens in the local community, regardless of ability to pay for such services; • Promoting the unity, harmony, and welfare of the medical profession Some of our activities: • Offer membership to all qualified physicians in our area • Encourage continuing medical education and accreditation • Liaison with public health agencies • Physician meetings featuring current topics concerning healthcare • Communicate information through our newsletter, The Bulletin. • Actively seek the legislative process to improve availability of quality healthcare for all citizens, regardless of ability to pay • Respect and facilitate the coordination of physician-specialty society efforts • Maintain honest communication with the media • Encourage members to volunteer in our community

E.C.M.S. Foundation ECMS Foundation: Dedicated to Enhancing Healthcare in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties Founded in 1994, the ECMS Foundation stands as the philanthropic branch of the Escambia County Medical Society. Our mission is to improve healthcare access and quality for the elderly, uninsured, and economically disadvantaged across Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. Foundation Goals: • Ensure access to healthcare for medically underserved citizens. • Lead advancements in public health principles and practices. • Address the comprehensive needs of patients and physicians in our community. Key Programs: 1. Go Seniors! Transportation Program: This essential program provides transportation subsidies for elderly residents to access regular medical care, significantly expanding during the COVID-19 pandemic to facilitate vaccine accessibility through our innovative voucher system. This program is essential to giving seniors independence and access to their medical appointments. 2. ECMS-Foundation Blood Pressure Cuff Program: This program equips patients with free blood pressure cuffs, empowering them to proactively monitor and manage their health conditions from the comfort of their homes. By doing so, we are placing health management tools directly into the hands of those who need them most. 3. Kids Clinic Exhibit: Located at the Pensacola Children’s Museum and created in partnership with the UWF Historic Trust, this exhibit engages children with interactive displays that educate them about medical science and health care professions, inspiring the next generation of medical professionals. 4. FSU College of Medicine Endowment Scholarship Program: Working alongside FSU’s Pensacola regional campus, we offer scholarships to medical students, nurturing their development and encouraging them to practice in our region after their training. 5. Pensacola State College Endowment Scholarship Program: Originally established by the Escambia County Medical Auxiliary in 1992, this endowed scholarship at Pensacola State College continues their legacy of supporting healthcare education. The fund assists students pursuing careers in healthcare, building a stronger medical workforce for our community. 12 E.C.M.S. Membership Directory
E.C.M.S. Foundation 6. Physicians Wellness Program: This program offers essential support to our physician members, providing them with up to three confidential sessions with skilled psychologists to navigate personal and professional challenges, ensuring our caregivers receive the care they need. 7. We Care Awards: Dedicated to helping the indigent and uninsured patients access care. This is only achievable because of our member physicians who generously donate their time and skill. Please consider joining this effort. 8. The 1873 Society: Named to commemorate the founding year of the ECMS, this society enhances our fundraising efforts. It honors donors who contribute $3,000 or more, recognizing their significant support at all society meetings and on a commemorative sign. Additionally, the ECMS Foundation has participated in other varied endeavors. It has provided awards to local science fair winners, money for public service billboards, and enabled a project to bridge the gap between hospital and home care.
