NEW LOOK LENNOX HEAD CULTURAL CENTRE UNVEILED Minister for the Arts, The Hon Don Harwin MLC, officially opened the Lennox Head Cultural Centre, marking the completion of the $2.58million project. This project is thanks to the NSW Regional Cultural Fund investment of $1.83million and $750,000 from Ballina Shire Council.

From the outside, the most noticeable change is the newlook turrets that are now covered in zinc, ideal for keeping corrosion at bay. Their appearance will also change over time and develop a blue and green patina finish. Other improvements to the centre include: Theatre and central foyer air-conditioning, providing year-round comfort for patrons A new roof and 80kw solar power system New internal linings to the theatre ceiling, walls and carpet tiles Laser projector and six-metre retractable screen. The freshly renovated centre will be a cultural hub for the Northern Rivers, attracting more live music and performances. While public health orders currently reduce the number of patrons allowed, bookings are available. Contact the facilities team on 6687 6291. For more information on current events see page 5
