NEW fishing shirts sport Ballina icons
The Ballina Tourism Team is excited to announce the arrival of its newest merchandise line – Ballina Fishing Shirts! Ballina has always been a popular destination for anglers and now you can fish in style with one of our very own Ballina-branded fishing shirts. Featuring local icons like the Big Prawn, Ballina Lighthouse, a fishing trawler, North Wall, North Creek and local beaches, wearing one is sure to get the fish biting!

Two osprey nesting sites, at Riverview Park and Kingsford Smith Reserve, have been upgraded. Modern cradles have been installed as part of a joint project between Ballina Shire Council, National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), and Birdlife Australia. One of the cradles was donated by Birdlife Australia, with the other manufactured by Council staff. The new cradles have improved design features based on NPWS best practice, including a new base design that helps nesting birds to cope with strong coastal winds. A licensed threatened species specialist from Birdlife Australia was onsite during the works to ensure bird welfare was managed and protected during the cradle replacement. Council maintains four osprey nesting sites throughout the Ballina Shire. Further works are planned to upgrade the remaining sites dependent on weather and the upcoming nesting season.
