Whatmotivatesyoutodothisworkeveryday?
Everything I do is motivated by people and relationships. I am motivated to take care of and create opportunities for my family. I am motivated by my colleagues, especially the teams I manage, to make Ballentine Partners the best place to work and learn. I am motivated by my clients to work to ensure their wealth is facilitating their dreams and enhancing their family well-being. There is nothing as rewarding as knowing that you ’ ve made a positive impact on someone ’ s life.

What’salessonyou’velearnedthatstillguides youtoday?
My dad has always told me “Make money to make time”. That lesson has guided my career & work in multiple ways. I chose to work at Ballentine Partners because I knew it was a firm that values families and the pursuit of interests and endeavors outside of work. That lesson also motivates the work that I do for my clients – my goal is to ensure my clients don’t have to spend unnecessary time managing or worrying about their wealth, and instead have more time and energy to spend on the other things that are important to them.

WhatdrewyoutoBallentinePartners?
I first became aware of Ballentine Partners through Covie’s book Raised Healthy, Wealthy and Wise. When I was ready to leave the law firm where I started my career to join a multi-family office, I knew Ballentine Partners was where I wanted to go. It was very important to me to join a firm that was focused on the human impact of its work and was committed to learning and adjusting its practices based on the real-life experiences of ultra-high net worth families.

Whatdoyouthinkclientsvaluemostinan advisortoday?
I think that the best thing an advisor can do is to deeply listen to their clients. Every client family is unique and comes to us with their own lifetime of experiences, values, and motivations. Although we could give off-the-shelf advice that might optimize tax savings or investments, we would be doing our clients a disservice if we don’t tailor our advice to that specific client’s life and goals. Ballentine Partners has always been primarily focused on the humans, not the wealth, and I think that is why clients value our work.

Ifyouweren’tinthisprofession, whatwouldyoubedoing?
If I wasn’t working in wealth management, I would be a therapist. I double-majored in psychology in college and have always been interested in how people think and make decisions. I still listen to a number of podcasts related to therapy, human psychology, and organizational behavior. It’s fascinating!

What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am really proud of the hard work, grit, and determination that led to me making partner only a few months after welcoming my first child and buying my first home. It is meaningful to me that my daughter will only ever know her mother as a partner and will begin her life knowing that women can hold leadership positions.
