Namaste Balas!

I hope you are doing great and enjoying your holidays!

First of all, a big congratulations on your amazing presentations at our recent Guru Vandana program! Everyone loved your energetic yoga and beautiful dance performances. Your teachers already know you as wonderful students, but through these presentations, they also got to see your special talents and discover more about the richness of our Hindu culture. You truly made all of us proud. Well done!

Let us remember that Guru Vandana is not just a once-a-year celebration. Respecting our gurus, parents, elders, and everyone who guides us - is something we should practice every single day, wherever we are.

Now that summer is here, it is time for fun, learning, and a little adventure! Many of you may be going on vacation - how exciting! You can be super helpers by assisting your parents with planning the trip, packing your bags, and organizing things when you return. You can even use AI tools to create fun travel checklists or get cool ideas!

During the holidays, try reading at least one book about our rich Hindu culture. You can explore stories from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, or inspiring Guru–Shishya stories. Don’t forget - you can swap books with friends and meet to share your favorite parts!

Let’s also try some hands-on fun! Fix a toy, plant seeds, water plants, or help cook a simple meal with your family. And here’s a fun twist - read a story and then narrate it to your family at bedtime. You might become the favorite storyteller in the family!

Finally, remember to balance your time. Screens and technology are fun, but the real magic is playing outside, creating things, and learning by doing.

Have a joyful, active, and exciting summer. East or West, Balas are the best!

MY FAVORITE HANUMAN CHALISA

DOHA AND ARTWORK PRAANA

Namaste,

My favorite Hanuman Chalisa doha is the nineteenth doha, which is, “Durgham kaj jagat ke jete, sugham anugraha tumare tete.” This doha means, “The burden of all difficult tasks of the world become light with your kind grace. ” This doha is my favorite because it explains that Hanuman ji is the solution to all burdens of difficult tasks and a remover of obstacles with his kind grace. He makes all difficult tasks come to light and he helps us among our path of life. This helps us humans solve problems and remain calm.

When Hanuman ji is helping us solve our problems, we are grateful for it. This helps us along our path throughout our life. “Durgham” means burden, “kaj jagat ke jete” means of all difficult tasks of this world, “sugham anugraha” means become light with, and “tumare tete” means your kind grace. This is why my favorite doha is the nineteenth doha, which is, “Durgham kaj jagat ke jete, sugham anugraha tumare tete.”

EARTH DAY

Namaste,

My name is Aarav Singh, and I go to Shivshakti Shaka. Today I will be talking about Earth Day. Earth Day is usually celebrated on April 22nd. This day is a global event dedicated to taking care of our planet and keeping it clean.

First Earth Day was observed on March 21, 1970, on the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere but it was proposed on April 22, 1970. The first Earth Day was focused on the United States only. In 1990, Denis Heyes, the original national coordinator, took it internationally and organized events in 141 nations. On Earth Day 2016, the landmark Paris agreement was signed by the U.S, U.K, China and 120 other countries. On the Earth Day of 2020, over 100 million people around the world observed the 50th anniversary of the world's largest civic observation. On Earth Day people plant trees, recycle, use eco- friendly transportation, and spread awareness to people around the world to notice the changes in the environment and fix them.

Finally, to summarize Earth Day is a day where we care about the earth and help it in any way, shape, or form like planting trees or cleaning up the park, river, or the community. Namaste and thank you for reading.

IMPORTANCE OF GURU (TEACHER)

A Guru is a teacher who helps us learn, grow, and become a better person. From our childhood, gurus guide us in school, at home, and in life. They do not just teach subjects like math or science they also teach us good values, discipline, and kindness.

In Hinduism, the Guru is given a very special place. I believe that a Guru shows the right path, just like a light in darkness. There is even a special day Guru Purnima in Bharat and in the US called Teacher Appreciation Week to thank and respect teachers.

A Guru helps us:

* Understand what is right and wrong

* Gain knowledge and skills

* Build confidence

* Become good human beings

For example, in the great Indian epic Mahabharata, Arjuna learned from his Guru Dronacharya and became a great warrior.

[ I’m happy to share that, I got a opportunity to play a Arjuna role in ‘Krishna Arjuna Samvad’ skit played as a part of HSS Guru Vandana event ]

We should always respect our teachers by listening carefully, following their guidance, and showing gratitude. A good student always values their Guru’s teachings.

In conclusion, a Guru is like a guide who helps us succeed in life. Without teachers, learning would be difficult, and we would not know the right path. That is why we say: “Guru is the light of knowledge.”

ASANA I LOVED THE MOST

SHWASA

My favorite yoga asana is Bhujangasana. I enjoy doing this pose because it enhances flexibility and strengthens the spine. Although it may appear effortless, it requires concentration, endurance, and the proper posture to do it correctly.

I enjoy practicing Bhujanasana because it is soothing and rejuvenating. It helps release tension, especially in the shoulders and your back. Furthermore, this asana stretches the muscles, improves balance, and promotes relaxation.

Overall, Bhujangasana is my favorite yoga asana because it is therapeutic and good physically and for mental well-being.
