WATER SAFETY

BY: PEDIATRIC TRAUMA AND INJURY PREVENTION PROGRAM, PENN STATE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL PENN STATE HEALTH MILTON S. HERSHEY MEDICAL CENTER

Summer is a great time to think about water safety, not only around the home, but also around open water, like

beaches, rivers and lakes. It is important for parents and

caregivers to create layers of protection and reduce

drowning risks for children

every moment they are in or around open water

– this includes when they are swimming, kayaking,

floating, boating, or even playing on or fishing off a dock.
