The expansive Great Room lies at the helm of the lodge and is the hub of all activity, from lounging with a book with panoramic views of the Southern Ocean, to sharing a drink at the open bar and planning the next day’s adventures. Especially at sunset, guests gather around the Great Room’s open bar, which offers premium wines, craft beers and top shelf spirits. Staff are on-hand to assist with mixing a cocktail or making a suggestion, and sunset drinks are served each evening to allow guests to mingle and share the day’s discoveries.

The generously spacious Baudin Lounge comfortably accommodates 10 guests seated along its boardroom table, suitable for a private dinner or executive meeting; the room boasts a lounge and LCD TV for presentations.

Group policy

Getting here
Southern Ocean Lodge is located at Hanson Bay on the island’s south-west coast, a 50-minute drive from Kangaroo Island Airport or a 90-minute drive from Penneshaw ferry terminal.
Flights from Adelaide (ADL) to Kangaroo Island (KGC) take 40 minutes via QantasLink. Complimentary share transfers are provided for all commercial flights. An exclusive lounge is available to Southern Ocean Lodge guests departing Kangaroo Island Airport.
For self-drive excursions, SeaLink operates regular 45-minute ferry transfers between Cape Jervis on the mainland and Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. Cape Jervis is a picturesque twohour drive from Adelaide.
